The deadline for competitors to file their applications for the 2024 Kulwicki Driver Development Program has been extended to Friday, January 19 at 5 p.m. ET.

The deadline was originally set for Monday, January 15, but has been extended giving racers an extra week to apply for the program.

"Due to Monday (January 15) being a national holiday and a potential software glitch we have now corrected, the 2024 @KulwickiDDP application deadline has been extended till Friday, January 19, at 5 p.m. EST," posted the program's official account on X on Sunday

Applicants should have Late Model racing experience and plan on competing in at least 15 races during the 2024 season.

Drivers who have previously competed or plan to compete in NASCAR’s National Series, the ARCA Menards Series or NASCAR Pinty’s Series are ineligible. There is no age requirement for the program, but preference will be given to candidates between the ages of 16 and 25.

Once the application deadline has passed, the Kulwicki Driver Development Program will begin the process of selecting its seven finalists for the 2024 season. Each of the seven drivers will receive $7,777 in monies, goods and services upon their selection.

Those seven drivers will also compete over the course of the 2024 season for the 2024 Kulwicki Cup and the $54,439 grand prize. Program participants are judged on race results, off-track civic participation, program promotion, fan interaction, and stewardship for Alan Kulwicki’s story.
