Jett Noland Chasing More Montgomery Glory
Noland is a two-time winner in the Show Me the Money Pro Late Model Series at Montgomery.
When the ASA Southern Super Series rolls into Montgomery Motor Speedway (AL), the series regulars have to contend with not only the series regulars, but those who have cut their teeth in the track’s Pro Late Model Show Me the Money Series. Several drivers racing in this Saturday’s Rumble by the River 125 have tasted victory at Montgomery in the series and have a slight advantage over those who run the track once a year. One in particular is Orlando, Florida’s Jett Noland.
“I really like Montgomery, it eats tires up and you have to save your stuff till the end,” said Noland. “It’s a little challenging, but we like that challenge and I think we are going to run well this weekend. Our team and Jesse Dutilly have really worked hard to get the car dialed in and we are ready to go.”
Noland is a two-time winner in the Show Me the Money Series at Montgomery, but it’s the success in recent weeks that has Noland and crew chief Jesse Dutilly really looking forward to this weekend. Noland was third at Mobile International Speedway (AL) and that comes on the heels of a fourth-place run at the Rattler 250 at South Alabama Speedway.
“We have been slowly picking away at getting better each week,” added Noland. “We had some problems at Five Flags and didn’t get to post the finish we should have. We are just working those little bugs out and hope we can keep getting the car faster. The ASA Southern Super Series is really competitive, one of the best in the county. Getting good runs here takes a lot of work.”
Dutilly and Noland have the Cohen Law Group number 50 Fury Race Cars machine running well. The McGunegill Engine Performance powered ride sits seventh in the points thanks in part to a top 10 run at New Smyrna back in February. Another solid run could propel them into the top five or higher. If Noland could find victory lane he would be the 11th different winner in the track history of ASA Southern Super Series events.
“I don’t know what it’s going to take yet,” explained Noland. “Talk to us after practice and we’ll have a better idea. I think you will have to be smart through the race and manage the tires really well. You get really excited to go to the track when you have won there before and you have run well.”
Racing gets underway at 7:30pm CT on Saturday, April 15th. The ASA Southern Super Series will be joined by the local Outlaws division for 40 laps and the Late Model Sportsman who will go 40 laps as well. There will be an on track autograph session at 6:30pm CT
