Atlantic Canada’s newest stock car racing series will commence its second season of competition sporting a fresh new look and a six-pack schedule.
New Brunswick based Easy-Kleen Pressure Systems has partnered with the Super Late Model Series on a multi-year deal to bring race fans in Atlantic Canada the Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series starting in 2024. The six-race series will contest races starting in May and running through August with events in New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.
Easy-Kleen Pressure Systems is a family owned and operated company that is truly an international brand with local Maritime roots. Easy-Kleen Pressure Systems has been manufacturing high pressure wash systems in New Brunswick since 1982 and has grown with locations sprawling across Canada. Headquartered in Sussex, New Brunswick, Easy-Kleen Pressure Systems prides itself on manufacturing and servicing high quality, well-built serviceable equipment.
Easy-Kleen Pressure Systems is no stranger to racing, having been long time supporters of Chris Duncan, who competes on the Super Late Model Series in his #97 Chevrolet Camaro.
Since being announced one year ago, the Super Late Model Series recently capped off its widely successful inaugural campaign with rave reviews and incredible racing. Events averaged 25 cars each – with an Atlantic Canadian high of 28 cars ushering in the Super Late Model Series era on opening day at Speedway 660. With a commitment to returning bigger and better with many lessons learned from the debut season, today’s string of announcements lift the curtain on the series for 2024 and beyond.
“The first season for the Super Late Model Series was an incredible success and really laid the foundation for the future. Now, this partnership with Easy-Kleen Pressure Systems will truly elevate the series and re-enforces the belief that drivers and fans alike have in us,” said Race Director Brent Roy.
“Easy-Kleen Pressure Systems has long been a supporter of stock car racing and is a very recognizable brand for race fans in Atlantic Canada. Their commitment to high quality products closely aligns with the Super Late Model Series vision to provide fans with high quality racing on track. We look forward to a bright future and a wonderful partnership, and we are sure any race teams who do not already own an Easy-Kleen pressure wash system will before long.”
The exciting news regarding the Easy-Kleen Pressure Systems title sponsorship is not the only piece being put in the puzzle of the 2024 season. Management is also thrilled to roll out the six-race schedule for the second season in series history.
Fans will be treated to another dose of thrills schedule wise for the 2024 Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series. Six races between the three host tracks – two a piece at each track – will set the stage to determine the series champion.
While much of the schedule will mimic that of the inaugural season, a pair of noticeable changes will shake things up. Petty International Raceway and Speedway 660 swap dates for rounds one and two – meaning the 2024 season will open on May 11th at Petty – while the season finale will shift to Speedway 660 in August.
Fittingly, the 2024 season will commence just twenty minutes down the road from the Easy-Kleen Pressure Systems headquarters – with the Fog City Auto Spa 150 on Petty International Raceway’s high banks headlining round one. Cory Hall (#83) emerged victorious one season ago, outduelling eventual champion Dylan Gosbee (#16) in the process.
The Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series will flip the calendar to June by heading up the Trans-Canada Highway to Speedway 660 for a 150-lap affair. Saturday June 1st will be the date for the first stop to the Geary, New Brunswick oval. The early season show at Speedway 660 was a memorable one last year, with Ryan Messer (#1) writing his name into the history books as the winner of the series’ first race.
Father’s Day Weekend will see the Series travel across the Confederation Bridge for the first of two trips, for the Chapman Bros 150 presented by Hynes Paving on Saturday June 15th at Oyster Bed Speedway. Last June, it was a dramatic finish fans are still talking about which saw Greg Proude (#29) lay claim to the first SLMS race on PEI.
The transition to the second half of the 2024 season will come with a return trip to Petty International Raceway on Saturday July 6th. This date actually served as a rain date in 2023 - but will now be an official date on the 2024 calendar as the Old Fashion Meat Market 150 moves from late September to early July. The most recent race contested, the 2023 Old Fashion Meat Market 150 was a race that saw a war of attrition with Ashton Tucker (#2) claiming the checkered flag after a record long green flag run to the finish.
Despite not being a long weekend for PEI locals, the August long weekend across much of Canada will see Oyster Bed Speedway play host to the penultimate race on the 2024 calendar. The Universal Truck and Trailer 150 will be crucial for drivers title hopes. It was this race that Dylan Gosbee (#16) used to vault himself to an insurmountable lead en route to the inaugural SLMS championship in 2023. Saturday August 3rd will be the date for round five of the 2024 calendar.
The season will come to a thrilling conclusion on Saturday August 17th with Speedway 660 playing host to the sixth and final round of the Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series. The ReCar 150 presented by Wonder Auto & Tire will see the crowning of the second champion in series history under the lights in the Geary Woods after 150 laps of action. The recent running of this race last August was incredible and is best remembered for the wild last lap battle between Cory Hall and Ashton Tucker, with Hall taking home the hardware.
“This schedule cements our commitment to the core DNA the Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series has been built on,” said Roy. “We heard from the drivers and teams how six races for a schedule provided a perfect balance while creating plenty of intensity. That same formula will continue as we strive to grow the series in many ways, while sticking to the vision we originally set out with, which includes doing what is best for the fans and teams.”
