Tuesday, April 26, 2022 (Birch Run, MI) – Due to inclement wet and unseasonably cold evening weather – the Cabin Fever 100 race event scheduled for April 29th and 30th has been discussed at length with CRA officials and rescheduled for the weekend of Friday May 13th, & Saturday May 14th. This rescheduling will make this the biggest race weekend in Birch Run Speedway history. That Friday will feature CRA practice, Friday Night Thunder $2500 to win Modified Races, Must See Sprint Cars, VROA Vintage Mods and Dwarf Cars. Saturday will feature $1500 to Win Street Stocks and The first leg of the CRA Jegs All-Star Tour Triple Crown series. Motor City Figure 8’s, Pure Stocks, American Trucks and Potential 1/2 mile front wheel drive tour show if confirmed. We will be announcing the other classes participating on Saturday as they are confirmed.
We did not take the decision lightly – we wanted to announce early before any travel expense was incurred by any team. We’ve been watching the weather the last several weeks and the cold front has just not let up like we need for adequate drying. Our pits are border line saturated for heavy rig parking as of 4/26/22 at 5pm. We believe the extra couple weeks will get us plenty of time to get dried up, and get our short track paving delivered as promised as announced for the 2022 season.
Our first event will be Friday May 6th featuring Outlaw Super Late Models from the Hammer Series Tour. Our support divisions on the short track will be announced as we understand the timing of the completion of the short track paving. The Wednesday open practice will also be rescheduled at this time.
