Tomy Drissi and Simon Gregg return to Trans Am action this weekend at Sebring International Raceway after ending last season with two top-fives at Circuit of The Americas.
2009 Trans Am national champion Tomy Drissi and 2012 national champion Simon Gregg will team up for a two-car Drissi Motorsports effort in the 2026 Trans Am opener at Sebring International Raceway. Drissi will return to the seat of the #8 Trench Shoring Chevrolet Camaro, while Gregg will pilot the #59 Chevrolet Camaro, as both drivers aim to chase down podium finishes to start the season.
Both Drissi and Gregg are ready to pick up where they left off last year, after the duo finished out the 2025 season with top five finishes at Circuit of the Americas. They were among the fastest drivers in preseason testing at Sebring last month, trying new things and building momentum to head into the opening round of the season with plenty of speed.
For Drissi, 2026 is an opportunity to improve upon a third-place championship finish last year that included three podiums and 10 top-five finishes in 12 races. He has finished in the top five in five of his past six Sebring visits, including a fourth-place finish last year in a blistering late-race charge that saw him dicing through the field in the late stages of the race.
“I’m really excited to be starting another Trans Am season at Sebring, especially with two Drissi Motorsports cars on the grid and Simon as my teammate,” said Drissi. “We’re really happy with the speed we had in preseason testing, and we’re ready to turn that into results to start the season. Last year we were consistent and stayed out of trouble in most races, and this year we’re determined to be even stronger.”
Gregg, meanwhile, will be racing in Sebring for the first time since 2021. The Florida native has had plenty of success at the track in the past, including a win in the GT1 SCCA Majors Tour Race here a decade ago. After returning to the series late last year and with a strong pace in preseason testing, Gregg is ready to write the next chapter in an iconic racing resume with Drissi Motorsports in 2026.
“It’s great to be back in Sebring with Tomy and the whole Drissi Motorsports team,” said Gregg. “I’m feeling good about the new season, and I’m excited to get going. Tomy and I have always worked well together. We were fast in preseason testing, and we expect to be competitive right out of the gate this season.”
On-track action at Sebring International Raceway will kick off on Friday with optional test sessions at 11:30 AM and 5:05 PM, followed by Saturday practice at 10:05 AM and qualifying at 3:15 PM. Sunday’s race will go green at 9:45 AM for 27 laps or 75 minutes of racing, with free live streaming beginning at 9:15 AM ET on Racing America.
Following Sebring, Drissi Motorsports will return to action on March 12-15 at Road Atlanta. To keep up with Tomy Drissi, follow @tomydrissi on Instagram and Facebook, and visit www.tomydrissi.com.
