Thrilling Duel at Indianapolis Motor Speedway for TopLiner as Burtin Racing Team Turns Up the Heat in Trans Am

TopLiner™ driver Martin Ragginger waged an exhilarating, heart-pounding duel aboard the No. 7 Chevrolet Camaro, relentlessly challenging Matthew Brabham for supremacy at the head of the TA Class field. The race was held on Father’s Day, June 21, at the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Despite the Burtin Racing team ultimately settling for a hard-earned second-place, the result delivered a powerful statement.

It marked the second podium finish of the season for both TopLiner™ and Ragginger, building on his strong third-place performance in the season opener at Sebring International Raceway. More significantly, the result signaled a major leap forward for the TopLiner™ program, as the sophisticated second-generation Burtin Racing chassis truly came alive under Ragginger’s expert command.

Developing the new Burtin Racing car has been a meticulous and innovative journey, marked by the team’s unwavering dedication, rigorous testing, and relentless hard work. The result is a standout performance from the latest-generation TopLiner™ Chevrolet Camaro, which demonstrated its exceptional pace and competitiveness on one of motorsport’s most iconic stages. From the moment the green flag dropped, Ragginger asserted himself at the front of the field, applying consistent pressure on race leader Brabham while expertly showcasing the speed, balance, and precision of the TopLiner™ machine.

The battle intensified as Ragginger mounted a sensational challenge. Navigating heavy lapped traffic with precision, the Austrian driver executed a daring three-wide move on the frontstretch of the iconic IMS oval to seize the lead with 21 laps remaining. Ragginger then commanded the field for 14 electrifying laps, delivering a masterclass performance that kept victory at the Brickyard firmly in sight—until traffic interference ultimately allowed Brabham to slip past on the outside in the closing stages of the race.

Despite narrowly missing the win, the podium result demonstrated the tremendous performance and after taking the second-place spot Ragginger commented, “Big thank you to the team, Burtin Racing and TopLiner™. I think we still have so much potential with this new car, but being competitive this weekend meant a lot to the whole team, to the guys who have built this car for so many years and to us drivers. Thank you to Adam for testing the car – it is still such a very new car, but we are definitely going in the right direction. I’m just grateful to be part of this whole program, and hopefully I can do a few more races.”

Team principal Claudio Burtin reflected after the race, “We’re kind of happy and disappointed at the same time. I think we had a fast race car and Martin is a great driver. It’s just one of those things – back traffic caused him to have to make an abrupt decision and jump the curb a little bit. Sometimes that’s all it takes at this level of competition. The field is so precise and so competitive that even the smallest hiccup can decide the final result.”

Over on the west coast, on the spectacular Qualcomm Circuit at Coronado Naval Base, Adam Andretti played a full part in an exhilarating race in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series where he piloted the No. 5 TopLiner™ TRICON Toyota TRD to a highly creditable P14 out of 35 competitors racing on the street circuit.
