Nitro Motorsports heads into another busy race weekend with opportunities to contend for victories on both road course and oval stages, as the team prepares for competition in the Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli at Sonoma Raceway and the ARCA Menards Series at Talladega Superspeedway.
Nitro will field seven entries in the TA2 competition at Sonoma with Ethan Tovo, Jackson Tovo, Sam Corry, Gian Buffomante, Seamus McKendree, Cale Phillips, and Vinnie Meskelis, while a five-car ARCA Menards Series effort at Talladega will feature Jake Bollman, Jake Finch, Gus Dean, Isabella Robusto, and Thomas Annunziata.
On the Trans Am side, Nitro arrives at Sonoma with momentum already building in the 2026 TA2 season. Ethan Tovo sits second in the championship after opening the year with finishes of fourth at Sebring and fifth at Road Atlanta. Sam Corry is fourth in points, highlighted by a fifth-place finish at Sebring. Jackson Tovo is fifth in the standings after a pair of tenth-place results to start the season while Gian Buffomante is eighth in points, Vinnie Meskelis is 11th after a runner-up finish in the Sebring opener, and Seamus McKendree is 12th heading west. In TA2 Pro/Am, Cale Phillips opened the year with a class podium at Sebring and enters Sonoma after two solid early-season starts.
Each of Nitro’s Sonoma drivers brings a different storyline into the weekend. Ethan Tovo has shown top-five pace from the opening round and also swept both GT2 races during the SCCA Majors event at Sebring in January. Jackson Tovo carried strong form into the season after a GT2 podium in that same Sebring weekend and has been a steady points scorer in TA2. Corry entered 2026 as last year’s TA2 runner-up, Buffomante came into the season as a 2025 podium finisher, McKendree has been labeled a perennial front-runner, Meskelis joined the team as a newcomer and immediately put himself on the podium at Sebring, and Phillips opened the year as one of Nitro’s Pro/Am contenders.
In ARCA competition, Nitro’s Talladega lineup also arrives with strong early-season form. Jake Bollman enters the weekend as the ARCA Menards Series points leader after opening the year with a sixth-place finish at Phoenix and a third-place run at Kansas. Thomas Annunziata has already scored a podium this year with third at Phoenix and sits among the early championship contenders. Nitro also brings veteran superspeedway presence with Gus Dean, who won at Daytona in 2024 and qualified on the front row for this year’s ARCA opener, while Jake Finch and Isabella Robusto add more firepower to an already deep roster.
“Any time you unload for two major events in the same weekend, the goal is simple: put ourselves in position to win,” explained Nitro Motorsports team owner Nick Tucker. “We’ve built a lineup that has speed, depth, and experience across both programs. Sonoma gives us the chance to showcase the strength of our Trans Am effort, while Talladega is the kind of place where preparation, teamwork, and confidence matter just as much as outright speed. We believe we have the people and the drivers to fight for top results at both tracks.”
With championship momentum building in both paddocks, Nitro Motorsports now turns its attention to a weekend that offers multiple chances to add more trophies to the 2026 campaign. From the technical challenge of Sonoma Raceway to the high-speed unpredictability of Talladega Superspeedway, Nitro will look to translate early-season promise into headline results.
