Brabham Inherits Sebring P1 Starting Spot After Weather Cancels Qualifying
Feb 28, 2026
Helio Meza will kick off the 2026 CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series season with the top starting spot at Sebring International Raceway. The 17-year-old rookie driver of the No. 28 Team SLR Chevrolet Camaro was awarded the top qualifying spot after qualifications were canceled due to rain and lightning.
Instead of times in qualifications setting the starting lineup for Sunday's race, the field had their starting positions determined by their speeds in Saturday's practice session. Meza turned the best lap of anyone with a lap time of 2 minutes, 5.869 seconds.
Meza's practice lap was just enough as he topped Noah Harmon's best lap time by just 0.04 seconds.
Notably, while Meza will start from the pole position, as in other forms of motorsport, he will not be credited with an official pole in the record book due to qualifying being canceled.
Harmon, who hails from nearby DeLand, Florida, will start from the second position in the No. 7 Silver Hare Racing Chevrolet Camaro.
The top-two starters will be followed by Adrian Wlostowski, Ethan Tovo, Alon Day, Lanie Buice, Vinnie Meskelis, Rafa Matos, Jackson Tovo, and Sam Corry, who rounded out the top-10 qualifiers in the 32-car field.
Jared Odrick, a former first round Draft Pick in the National Football League and the defending TA2 Pro/Am Challenge champion, will start Sunday's race from the 15th position in the No. 00 TRB Autosport Chevrolet Camaro, which places him first among the Pro/Am competitors in the field.
Connor Mosack, who was competing in Saturday's NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series street race at St. Petersburg, was unable to turn a lap in practice and, as a result, will start 31st, ahead of Matt Griffin, who also did not turn a lap in Saturday's practice session.
Live coverage of the CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series race at Sebring will begin at 1:00 p.m. ET. It will be streamed LIVE on Trans Am’s YouTube channel, @TheTransAmSeries, and broadcast LIVE at RacingAmerica.TV.
