Salem, IN (June 8, 2022) – After a nearly two months off, thanks in part to the weather cancelling the April 30th series event at Shadybowl Speedway, the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS are set to be back on the track this Sunday, June 12th at Mt. Lawn Speedway, located just outside New Castle, Indiana.

In 2020 the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks returned to Mt. Lawn Speedway for the first time since the 2010 season. Colby Lane came away with the win in the first 2020 series event at Mt. Lawn while Ryan Amonett won the second. 2021 series Champion Jason Atkinson got the win in the 2021 Mt. Lawn Speedway event over former series Champion Jimmy Kirby and Andrew Teepe.

The Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks have had three events to date in the 2022 season, Shawn Amor picked up the win in the series special non-points event with SpeedFest 2022 at Watermelon Capital Speedway in January. Atkinson picked up the win in the series points opener at Shadybowl Speedway on April 3rd as part of the Cabin Fever event. Josh Poore picked up the win in the series' last event at Anderson Speedway on April 16th.

Atkinson comes into this weekend’s event as the series points leader, the three-time series Champion has a 12-point leader over series rookie Blaine Akin. Fellow series rookie Dalton Conner and 2021 series Rookie of the Year Dawson Phillips are tied for third place, they are eight points behind Akin. Series Rookie Hunter King is in fifth place, he is 69 points behind Conner and Phillips. All Atkinson, Akin, Conner and Phillips are expected to compete in Sunday’s event.

Other drivers expected to compete includes Teepe, Kirby, Amonett, Calvin Parham, J.P. Crabtree, Nathan Greene, Frankie Oakes, Kimmie Grieg, Cody Rackley and Jackson McLerran, who will make the haul from Portland, Tennessee to race in Sunday’s event!

On Sunday, pit gates open at 1pm. Practice will begin at 3:30pm. The series second practice session will also be Allstar Performance Group Qualifying. The race program is set to begin at 6:00pm and will include the Van Hoy Oil 50 for the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks. Also racing that night will be the Mt. Lawn Speedway Modifieds, Pro Compacts, Stock Compacts and Crown Vic’s.

There will be some great bonuses available for the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks contenders at Mt. Lawn including Cowboy, Come! Canning and Distillery who will award a $300 cash bonus by a random draw of the top ten finishers and a $100 cash bonus by a random draw of 11th place on back. William's Performance will pay a $100 cash bonus to the driver advancing the most positions. All Wrapped Up will award a $150 cash bonus to the team that gets banged up the most in the race. JD Blankenship will award a $100 cash bonus to the driver leading lap 21 in memory of his Father Darwin. The Wyman’s will award a $50 gas card to the driver hauling the farthest and to the 7th, 10th and 14th place finishers.
