Vores Compacts Bringing Double the Fun to Anderson

Salem, IN (April 13, 2022) – The Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS will be back in action in the O’Reilly Auto Parts 75, this Saturday at Anderson Speedway, located in Anderson, IN. Saturday’s O’Reilly Auto Parts 75 will be the first of four series events at Anderson Speedway during the 2022 season. The other series dates at Anderson will be the two Cowboy, Come Canning & Distillery Four Crown Mini-Series events on June 25th and August 13th and a 75-lap event on September 17th.
Jason Atkinson continued his winning ways in the series season opening CRA Cabin Fever event at Shady bowl Speedway on April 3rd. Atkinson is coming off a record seven-win season in 2021 and claimed his record third series Championship. Local driver Josh Smith finished second at Shadybowl with Northern Indiana’s Austin Maynard finishing in third place.
Atkinson comes into Saturday night as the series points leader by three points over second place Smith. Maynard is in third place, three points behind Smith. Rookie Dalton Conner is in fourth place, two points behind Maynard. J.P. Crabtree is in fifth place, two points behind Conner.
Atkinson tops a strong list of series drivers entered for Saturday night's event. Also entered is multi-time Anderson Street Stock Champion Josh Poore, series Chase for the Championship contender Andrew Teepe, 2021 series Rookie of the Year Dawson Phillips, Kimmie Greig, multi-time series winner Ryan Amonett, and series rookies Dalton Conner, Blaine Akin and Hunter King.
Louisville, Kentucky racer Troy Phillips and Portland, Tennessee’s Jackson McLerran are both making long hauls to make their 2022 series debuts on Saturday.
There will be an optional open practice at Anderson Speedway this Friday from 4 to 7pm.
The newly revised schedule of events for Saturday will have pit gates open at 11:30pm. Practice will begin at 1:30pm with qualifying beginning at 3:30pm. The race program is set to begin at 5:00pm and will include the O’Reilly Auto Parts 75 for the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks. Also racing that night will be the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman and the Vore’s Touring Compact Series.
