Akin, Sage Collect First Career CRA Wins at Cabin Fever Sunday
Apr 4, 2023
Nashville, TN (Wednesday, April 5, 2023) – While only one driver can win the race, Champion Racing Association (CRA) member drivers will also be awarded thanks to the great contingency sponsors in 2023. After the Cabin Fever 75 at Shadybowl Speedway on Sunday, CRA officials announced the award winners for the CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS in addition to the race winner, Blaine Akin.
The afternoon began with drivers competing for the Allstar Performance Fast Qualifier Award. In a group qualifying format, drivers tried to find the fastest way around the uniquely shaped track in DeGraff, Ohio. Jamie Sites, a native of Tipp City, Ohio, bested the field in Qualifying, turning in a 14.990 second lap time, giving him the Allstar Performance Fast Qualifier Award by 0.025 seconds over four-time series champion, Jason Atkinson, and the $50 product certificate that goes with it. Not only is Allstar Performance awarding Fast Qualifiers at each event, but the driver who captures the most Fast Qualifier Awards throughout the season will get an additional award from Allstar Performance.
TCI Automotive awarded multiple accolades from Sunday’s Cabin Fever 75. Blaine Akin will receive a $50 TCI Automotive Award product certificate for winning the race after a dramatic 10-lap battle with Jason Atkinson, who will also receive a $50 TCI Automotive Product Certificate Award for finishing in the runner-up spot. The final TCI Automotive Award goes to the event’s Hard Charger, who was Jacob Muncy in his No.5 Chevrolet. Muncy advanced seven positions on Sunday, going from 14th to finish 7th, also collecting a $50 product certificate.
Member drivers were well awarded after Sunday’s race. Akin also took home awards from Aero Race Wheels and Schoenfeld Headers. Atkinson’s performance allowed him to receive awards from Schoenfeld Headers, Quarter Master, and Holley Performance.
Having their CRA membership paid off for Dallas Frueh and Corey Jones who collected several awards simply by being the first CRA Member Driver without an award. Frueh will collect an award from Quarter Master and COMP Cams, each a $50 product certificate. Jones picked up awards from Bassett Racing Wheels, COMP Cams, and Holley Performance.
The next event for the CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS is Saturday, April 15th at Anderson Speedway for the Spring Fling 75 Presented by CB Fabricating. Drivers who wish to reap the benefits of being a CRA Membership Driver can submit a membership application by filling out the form here.
