FREDRICKSBURG, VA – Conner Jones will wrap up his 2022 racing schedule with his first attempt in the prestigious 55th edition of the Snowball Derby at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola Florida Sunday December 4th. Along with his attempt at the Super Late Model featured Derby, Jones will also make his second attempt at making the Pro Late Model Snowflake feature on Saturday December 3rd.

Both Super Late Model and Pro Late Model efforts are being fielded by R&S Race Cars and led by 2018 Snowball Derby winning crew chief Marcus Richmond. Both Fury Race Cars will adorn Jones’ familiar 44 number and partners including

Jones Utilities, PepperJack Kennels, NutriSource Pet Foods, The Tool Shack, Dreamworks Motorsports, Fire Suppression Solutions LLC, Swift Springs, R&S Race Cars and MDM Consulting.

R&S Race Cars will also be working in an alliance with Derek Thorn Racing and Mike Keen during the weekend of racing at Five Flags Speedway.

With this being Jones’ Derby debut, he will also be eligible to win $10,000 which is awarded to the highest finishing rookie in the event.

Jones commented on the upcoming trip to Pensacola, “Making the races are the main goal heading down. The Snowball Derby is the hardest race to qualify for every year – even harder than qualifying for Martinsville. We missed qualifying for the Snowflake last year with a mechanical failure so it’s simple for me – let’s get in the races and see what happens.” Jones also spoke of strategy, “This place is also hard on tires even more so than some of the tracks we’ve run this year that are hard on tires. That will be a huge factor, but I am confident in our chances.” Jones closed. “I’m also excited to be able to work with Derek (Thorn) again at the Derby. We worked really well together in Nashville last month and I’ve learned a lot from him already and feel like I’m becoming a better driver with things he has helped me with.

Conner’s 2022 season saw him run primarily in the late model stock ranks competing in both the CARS Tour and NASCAR sanctioned events include the famed Virginia Triple Crown. He broke through and recorded his first career late model win at the CAR Tour event at Tri-County Speedway back on September 9th. Jones also competed in three ARCA Menards races at Dover, Iowa, and Salem with Venturini Motorsports.
