The Vores Compact Touring Series flies into West Virginia on Saturday, competing in the Freedom Used Auto Fly By 40 at Ona Speedway. Nearly 40 drivers will be on hand, with the Vores Compact regulars taking on the U Car favorites from Ona Speedway.
Last year, it was one of those Ona locals, Tim Cassidy, who won the inaugural Vores Compact Touring Series visit to the West Virginia short track. Cassidy and defending track champion Keith Watson lead another strong contingent of Ona regulars who will look to defend home turf this weekend.
As for the Vores Compact Touring Series' traveling stars, Chris Jennings leads the points standings going into the weekend. It's a three-way tie for second behind him between Karter Stark, Bo Hoelscher and Kyle Frame.
All told, 38 drivers are currently entered, representing six states. Pit gates will open at Noon ET on Saturday, with practice starting for Vores competitors at 2 p.m. The Vores Compacts will qualify at 4:30 p.m., and racing will start at 6:05 p.m. with the B-Main for the Compacts.
