Racing America is proud to announce that Jeff Luckritz has been promoted to the role of Director for Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA), marking another step in the company's continued growth. Over the last eight seasons, Luckritz advanced from Operations Manager for two of Racing America’s series all the way to Race Director. A veteran on the Racing America staff, he will now oversee all aspects of SVRA competition and operations as SVRA’s Director.
“I am excited to have the opportunity to grow my role within SVRA and rebuild the racing experience for our drivers,” said Luckritz. “My initial priorities will include a deep dive into our past success, and look for ways to combine that with new and exciting opportunities for growth within our paddock. I would like to thank Racing America’s CEO, Lee Giannone, and COO, Ken Thwaits, for this opportunity and their dedication to our SVRA racers.”
Luckritz has been part of the Formula Regional Americas Championship (FR Americas) and Formula 4 United States Championship (F4 U.S.) staff since 2019. First serving as the Operations Manager, Luckritz’s involvement grew over the years as he took on roles of Grid Chief and Pit Lane Chief. When FR Americas and F4 U.S. joined the Racing America family, Luckritz expanded his role to become Paddock Director for not only FR Americas and F4 U.S., but also The Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli and SVRA. Most recently, he’s served as SVRA Race Director for select events during the 2025 season.
Luckritz brings a diverse background to SVRA as a retired high school chemistry teacher and football/softball coach, SCCA Regional Executive and avid motorsports enthusiast. Passionate about safe driving, he owns a driver’s education company where he instructs young adults learning to drive on the road. A long-time SCCA competitor, Luckritz began racing in VW Golf GTIs, before joining the Neon Challenge Series to race a Dodge Neon, and ultimately moving to Spec Miatas. Over the years, he’s qualified and competed in the SCCA Run-Offs on numerous occasions, and continues his passion for the sport today through his work with SVRA and Racing America.
“Jeff’s attention to detail makes him the perfect candidate to be the Director of SVRA,” said Ken Thwaits, Chief Operating Officer of Racing America. “We are eager to continue watching his development as he takes on this new and exciting position within SVRA.”
SVRA is back on track this weekend with Racing America at Sonoma, where the series will contest its first West Coast race of 2026. The track’s proximity to the Sonoma and Napa wine regions helps make the race weekend one of the most popular events of the season. With a full weekend of on-track action paired with the Hagerty Cars and Caffeine Car Show and a family-friendly atmosphere where kids 12 and under are admitted free, Racing America at Sonoma will have something for everyone. Tickets for the April 24-26 event are available now on RacingAmericaTickets.com. Prospective drivers looking to learn more about racing with SVRA or wanting to enter the event should visit SVRA.com.
