Due to the overwhelming support the Short Track U.S. Nationals: The Last Lap has received, entries must be cut off earlier than anticipated.

More than 235 entries have been submitted at this time across the three divisions competing at Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday, April 6. Due to the huge demand and limited space inside the track, series officials have determined that additional entries from this point forward, will be placed on a Waiting List.

VCTS Series Director, Dan Redmond noted, “We knew there was a good possibility that entries would have to be cut-off, because we’ve experienced that in the past at Bristol. We are very pleasantly surprised that it happened this quickly. Obviously, the racers are as excited as we are to be returning to Bristol Motor Speedway.”

Series officials will continue to accept entries, and create a waiting list so additional teams may enter as opportunities are presented. Teams are encouraged to enter as soon as possible so the Waiting List may be compiled accurately.

CRA Series Director, Scott Menlen expressed concern for those that have not entered yet by saying, “We are committed to including as many race teams as we possibly can. We will do everything in our power to allow the maximum number of entries possible, and still provide a positive experience for everyone involved.”

Brian Nester, of the Midwest Modified Series echoed their sentiments while adding, “The response for this event is fantastic. As a racer myself, I’m not surprised that everyone wants to be part of it. We will definitely need the cooperation of all the teams to make this go smoothly. After all, It’s Bristol Baby!”

The driving force behind this event, Steve Vore stated, “It is still our goal to get any additional teams to Bristol to help them with this bucket list opportunity.” Anyone that has registered, but unable to attend will receive a refund if we are made aware of it by March 6th. This will allow us to include someone off of the Waiting List.”
