Front Row Motorsports announced on Thursday that Zane Smith has signed a multi-year extension to continue driving the team's No. 38 Ford Mustang Dark Horse.

Smith is finishing his second full-time season in the NASCAR Cup Series in 2025, with three career top-fives and 10 career top-10 finishes. He competed in 2024 driving the No. 71 for Spire Motorsports before joining Front Row ahead of the 2025 season.

“We’ve had an up-and-down year, but heading into the offseason, I feel like we’ve put our program in a great position to hit the ground running in 2026,” said Smith. “Front Row has always felt like home — the people, both on the road and at the shop, truly make this a special place and I’m excited for what next season holds.”

Smith first joined Front Row Motorsports in 2022, piloting the No. 38 Ford F-150 for the team in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. The California native won four races that year en route to the series title. He added two more wins for the team in 2023 before making the jump to the NASCAR Cup Series in 2024.

Smith also finished 13th in the 2023 Daytona 500 in an open entry for Front Row Motorsports. He'd finish 10th later that year in the Coca-Cola 600 in another appearance with Front Row.

Ryan Bergenty, entering his fourth year as the crew chief for the No. 38 Ford, will continue to serve as Smith's crew chief in the 2026 season.

The team's best finish this season came in another marquee event on the NASCAR Cup Series calendar, the Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol. Smith finished third in the event won by Christopher Bell.

Announcements regarding the partner lineup for the No. 38 NASCAR Cup Series team will come at a later date.

Front Row Motorsports debuted in the NASCAR Cup Series in 2005. The team has four wins in NASCAR's premier series, including the 2021 Daytona 500 with driver Michael McDowell.
