Chase Briscoe claimed the Xfinity Fastest Lap award for the NASCAR Cup Series South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Sunday, while Connor Zilisch added yet another Fastest Lap award during the NASCAR Xfinity Series Focused Health 302.
Briscoe set the Xfinity Fastest Lap just two laps into Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series South Point 400, with a time of 29.394 seconds around the 1.5-mile Las Vegas Motor Speedway. He finished fourth in the event, won by Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Denny Hamlin.
Briscoe's day helped him move above the cutline in the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs, currently in the Round of 8. He now sits fourth in the standings, with a 15-point advantage over regular-season champion William Byron.
Despite having seven pole awards during the NASCAR Cup Series season, Briscoe had not earned the Xfinity Fastest Lap award in 2025. That makes him the 13th different NASCAR Cup Series driver to earn the honor this year.
In the NASCAR Xfinity Series, Connor Zilisch earned his seventh Xfinity Fastest Lap award, continuing a hot streak of fast laps. Zilisch has earned the award and corresponding bonus point in six of the last eight Xfinity Series events.
Zilisch's fast lap came on the 100th circuit of the Focused Health 302 at Las Vegas, won by Aric Almirola. His lap time of 30.442 seconds was good for his seventh Xfinity Fastest Lap award of the season.
While Zilisch's late charge in hopes of snagging the win from Almirola came up just short, he is 82 points above the cutline in the Round of 8 in the NASCAR Xfinity Series Playoffs. Zilisch continues to lead the championship standings, with a 38-point advantage over Justin Allgaier.
All three of NASCAR's National Series head to Talladega Superspeedway weekend as the push towards NASCAR Championship Weekend at Phoenix Raceway continues. The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series competes on Friday, October 17 to start the weekend, followed by the NASCAR Xfinity Series on Saturday, October 18.
The NASCAR Cup Series races on Sunday, October 19 in the YellaWood 500. Coverage begins at 2 p.m. ET on NBC, the Motor Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
