Daniel Suárez and the No. 99 Trackhouse Racing team will have a new crew chief atop the pit box in 2024 as Matt Swiderski will move over from the No. 16 Kaulig Racing team to serve as the new crew chief for the team.

Travis Mack, who had served as the crew chief for the No. 99 team since its inception in 2021, will head over to replace Swiderski at Kaulig Racing.

Swiderski led the No. 16 Kaulig Racing NASCAR Cup Series team to two victories over the last three seasons. Now, he'll be leaned on to help bring Suárez and the No. 99 team, which tasted victory lane for the first time in 2022, back to the promised land.

“Matt is a proven winner with a dynamic engineering background, and we are confident he will pair well with Daniel,” said Trackhouse founder and owner Justin Marks.

Swiderski, 42, is excited about the change of scenery and he's excited to get to work with his new driver.

“Everyone sees what Trackhouse Racing is building and I am thankful for the opportunity to come to a winning organization and lead the No. 99 team,” said Swiderski. “I am looking forward to working with Daniel. We are both striving to achieve the same thing, winning. Every day we are going to work on perfecting the next steps that it takes to get more wins and compete for a championship.”

Mack will move over to serve as the crew chief for the No. 16 entry for Kaulig Racing in the NASCAR Cup Series in 2024, but he'll also dually serve in the role of Technical Director of Kaulig Racing's overall NASCAR Cup Series program.

Kaulig Racing announced the addition of Mack in a post on X, formerly Twitter, on Monday afternoon.

Mack was the man tasked with getting the Trackhouse Racing team built from the ground up in 2021, and in 2022 he guided Daniel Suárez to his first-career NASCAR Cup Series win and Playoff appearance.

This past season, the pairing of Suárez and Mack failed to match their incredible 2022 results, and fell just short of making the Playoffs in 2023.

Perhaps a change of scenery can help Trackhouse Racing and Kaulig Racing find more consistency in 2024.

In addition to the pickup of Mack, Kaulig Racing confirmed that Trent Owens will return as the crew chief of the No. 31 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 in the NASCAR Cup Series in 2024.
