Ryan Preece, a native of Berlin, Connecticut, will join the Superstar Racing Experience (SRX) field as an additional entry for the series' second consecutive trip to Stafford Motor Speedway on July 20, the series officially confirmed on Friday.

The 32-year-old driver was a last-minute addition to the entry list for the event after the series was forced to relocate an event from Thunder Road Speedbowl to Stafford Motor Speedway, due to the flooding in Vermont, and the subsequent State of Emergency.

Despite the change in location, the four part-time drivers scheduled to compete in the event at Thunder Road Speedbowl - Kenny Wallace, Tony Kanaan, Greg Biffle, and Daniel Suarez - are still scheduled to compete in the event at Stafford Motor Speedway.

However, the addition of Preece to the entry list for the second event of the year, means that the Camping World SRX Series will have its first 13-driver entry list of the 2023 season.

"There have been a lot of moving parts over the last few days and some unprecedented things have happened. One of the most exciting things in all of that, is the addition of Ryan Preece to the SRX field at Stafford on July 20," said Don Hawk, Chief Executive Officer of SRX. "I'm a modified guy. I know what he can do in one of those, and in a NASCAR Cup car. He is a perfect fit for us, and the fans at Stafford will hopefully come back to root on one of their own."

Preece, who competes full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series for Stewart-Haas Racing, is the perfect addition to the entry list considering his past performances at Stafford Motor Speedway, which include nine NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour victories in 41 starts at the half-mile facility.

The 2013 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion will look to become the second consecutive driver to score a victory in their debut in the Camping World SRX Series after Denny Hamlin captured a rain-shortened victory in the series' season-opener at Stafford Speedway.
