On Friday, Richard Childress Racing (RCR) announced a pair of key leadership appointments, which aim to bring the company to the next level and further strengthen its business operations.

Long-time motorsports executive Mike Verlander has been named the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Richard Childress Racing. In this new position, Verlander will work alongside Richard Childress (Chairman and CEO) and Torrey Galida (President) to provide strategic direction and oversight in the day-to-day operations of the team.

Verlander comes to Richard Childress Racing with nearly two decades of experience in the motorsports industry, plus a pre-existing relationship with NASCAR Cup Series driver Kyle Busch, who drives the team’s No. 8 Chevrolet Camaro.

Before joining RCR, Verlander worked as the President and Chief Revenue Officer of Kyle Busch Companies, where he led Kyle Busch Motorsports and managed all personal and commercial revenue for the Busch family.

Over the years, Verlander has developed a reputation for delivering results and building strategic relationships with world-class brands. In his new position, Verlander joins a C-level suite that includes Jennifer White, who has recently been appointed Chief Marketing Officer of the organization.

Having spent 15 years with Richard Childress Racing, Jennifer White is the first woman in the history of the organization to hold the Chief Marketing Officer title. White most recently served as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications, and will continue to lead the team’s partnership marketing, communications, content, and licensing departments.

“Mike Verlander is a highly respected industry veteran who will bring a wealth of knowledge and industry experience to RCR as he helps us chart the course for the long-term future during a very dynamic time in our sport,” said Torrey Galida, president of RCR. “I’m excited for Mike to work with the leadership team in all aspects of our business operations and know that he will do a great job. I’d also like to congratulate Jennifer White on her new position as chief marketing officer for RCR. She has done an outstanding job setting the standard for our partners and building a strong team of marketing and communications professionals.”

In November, Richard Childress Racing announced a set of promotions among its leadership team, which elevated Andy Petree to Executive Vice President, while also promoting Justin Alexander and Eric Kominek into competition-based roles.

The 2024 NASCAR Cup Series campaign begins with the pre-season Busch Light Clash at the LA Memorial Coliseum, but the work has already started in the marketing department, with several new partners announced for Busch ahead of the upcoming season including Zone Premium Nicotine Patches and Rebel Bourbon.
