Ryan Blaney Holds Off Josh Berry for New Hampshire Win
Sep 21, 2025
With his win on Sunday in the Mobil 1 301, Ryan Blaney locked himself into the Round of 8 for the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs. However, those weren't the only ramifications of Sunday's race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
William Byron remains atop the points battle in the Playoff Standings, Blaney's point total following the win notwithstanding. Byron sits 47 points above the cutline with two races remaining in the Round of 12 after finishing third on Sunday.
The biggest gainer from Sunday's race is fourth-place finisher Joey Logano. Logano entered the Mobil 1 301 below the cutline, but surged to sixth with a top-five result. Logano is now 18 points above the cutline for the Round of 8.
Taking Logano's place below the cutline is Bubba Wallace, who finished 26th at Loudon. Wallace was just one point above the cutoff entering New Hampshire, and a finish outside the top 25 dropped him all the way to 12th in the Playoff Standings, 27 points below the cut.
The playoff battle continues at Kansas Speedway next week, a pivotal race before what will certainly be a dramatic cutoff event at the Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL.
