Food City will continue its relationship with Kaulig Racing for a second straight year, partnering with the race-winning NASCAR Cup Series organization for both of outings for the series at Bristol Motor Speedway, the first of which will happen this weekend.

AJ Allmendinger, a multi-time winner in both the NASCAR Cup and Xfinity Series, will pilot the No. 16 Chevrolet Camaro at the half-mile short-track, with PepsiCo brands Mountain Dew and Cheetos prominently featured on the vehicle.

“We’re excited to continue our partnership with Food City,” Chris Rice, Kaulig Racing team president says. “This group has always been a lot of fun to work with and has become part of our Kaulig Racing family. We’ll have plenty of Mtn Dew in our hands and ‘Cheetle’ on our fingers on the pit box to get us through 500 laps.”

Returning to the NASCAR Xfinity Series to chase a championship this season, Allmendinger has vastly reduced his schedule at NASCAR’s top level, with Bristol serving as his second start of 2024, aside from the Daytona 500, in which he scored a sixth-place result.

Last season, Food City made its first appearance with Kaulig Racing in the NASCAR Cup Series and the NASCAR Xfinity Series, highlighted by the return of the Mountain Drew brand to NASCAR’s top level, aboard the No. 31 Chevrolet, driven by Justin Haley.

“Food City is proud to once again team up with our friends from Kaulig Racing and PepsiCo to sponsor AJ Allmendinger and the Kaulig Racing No. 16 Camaro ZL1 for the historic return of the Food City 500 to Bristol Motor Speedway,” says Steven C. Smith, Food City president and chief executive officer.

Allmendinger is set to share the No. 16 Chevrolet Camaro with multiple drivers throughout the upcoming season, including Shane van Gisbergen, Derek Kraus, and Josh Williams.

Further details surrounding the Food City x Kaulig Racing partnership for the Fall event at Bristol Motor Speedway will be announced at a later date.
