Michael McDowell and the No. 34 Front Row Motorsports team will feature a new paint scheme on their Ford Mustang race car this weekend in the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway.

Longtime partner FR8 Auctions will be the primary partner for the team this weekend, and it has announced its brand new program FR8 Racing with the partnership on the car.

“We are excited to announce this new program and be able to promote it with Michael and FRM at Daytona,” said Matt Erickson, President, FR8 Racing.

So, what is FR8 Racing? According to a press release, it's a new late model program that will run out of Dawsonville, Georgia, which will have a focus on new driver development.

“This is a program for young and talented drivers looking for an opportunity to showcase their talents in excellent equipment while benefiting from veteran coaching inside and outside the car," Erickson explained. "This is exactly what FR8 Racing will focus on.”

In addition to coaching young drivers, the team will provide NASCAR Cup Series-level drivers an opportunity to race in some of the most prestigious short track events in the United States.

This program is the continuation of the short track initiatives that FR8 Auctions had already been participating in over the last few years.

“We have already worked with a few NASCAR Cup Series drivers in short track events like the Snowball Derby and during the North Wilkesboro All-Star week,” said Marcus Barela, Owner, Fr8Auctions and FR8Racing. “We are so excited to continue this focus on a grassroots level while also continuing our long-standing partnership of Michael and the entire Front Row Motorsports team.”

McDowell, who scored his second career NASCAR Cup Series victory a couple of weeks ago at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course, says that FR8 Auctions is a first-class organization, and will provide a launching pad for young drivers.

“Everyone needs an opportunity to continue their racing career,” said McDowell. “And people like Marcus and Matt at Fr8 Auctions, and now FR8 Racing, only do things first class. This is a program that will help future racers for generations to come while also allowing NASCAR Cup Series stars to stay connected with the grassroots fans and events. I think this will be nothing but great for everyone involved.”

McDowell will take to the track in the No. 34 Front Row Motorsports FR8 Racing Ford Mustang in the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway on Saturday, August 26th. That race will be televised by NBC at 7:00 PM ET. MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio will provide the radio broadcast of the event.
