2022 NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series champion Layne Riggs is set to continue his career in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series next season, agreeing to a multi-year contract with Front Row Motorsports (FRM).

Riggs, a native of Bahama, North Carolina, will once again be jumping behind the wheel of the No. 34 Ford F-150 for the 2026 campaign – marking his third full-time season with Front Row Motorsports in the NASCAR Truck Series, and his second piloting an entry with the organization’s flagship number.

“This year was a huge confidence booster—not just for me, but for our entire team,” said Riggs. “Making a deep playoff run is no easy task, but this group made it feel that way. We’re ready for the offseason, but just as excited to come out swinging at Daytona.”

In a season that has been dominated by Corey Heim and TRICON Garage in pretty much every metric known to statisticians, Riggs has still managed to have a breakout season, collecting three victories (at Pocono, Indianapolis Raceway Park, and Bristol), as well as season-high numbers in both top-five and top-10 finishes.

Despite all of that, though, a tumultuous semi-final round of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Playoffs kept Riggs from advancing to the Championship 4 – losing out on the final spot top Kaden Honeycutt courtesy of a tiebreaker.

That hasn’t taken anything away from Riggs, though, who has made immense gains since the start of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Playoffs in 2024 (which Riggs didn’t even qualify for), having collected a career total of five victories, and establishing himself as a clear favourite for the championship in 2026, despite limited knowledge of the field of contenders.

“It’s truly incredible what this team has done these last two seasons,” said Riggs. “This group of guys has had my back since day one and the bond we have formed is something that I hold close to my heart. We have really stepped it up compared to 2024 and it’s only going to get better. I’m excited to see what the future holds.”

Dylan Cappello will continue to serve as crew chief for Layne Riggs and Front Row Motorsports in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for 2026, a job that he’s held since the son of former NASCAR National Series winner Scott Riggs entered the Truck Series at the start of 2024.

Cappello is a racer himself, whose accolades include a win in the ARCA Menards Series West in 2023, and a pole in the Allen Turner Snowflake 100 at Five Flags Speedway in 2024, amongst other things.

“Dylan (Cappello) and I just click,” said Riggs. “Not only do we both have a racing background, but we both have mechanical engineering degrees. I can tell him how the truck feels, and he’ll know exactly what I mean and how to make it better. We work well together and have something that will hopefully carry us into another playoff berth.”

Riggs isn’t out of things to fight for this season, though, as the No. 34 Ford F-150 is still in the fight for the 2025 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Owner’s Championship. Should Riggs finish ahead of his three competitors – Corey Heim (No. 11 TRICON Garage), Kaden Honeycutt (No. 52 Halmar Friesen Racing), and Ty Majeski (No. 98 ThorSport Racing) – then Front Row Motorsports will claim the 2025 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Owner’s Championship.
