Joey Logano caught the perfect gust of wind during his round two qualifying run at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Saturday afternoon, and he parlayed that gust of wind into the pole for Sunday's Pennzoil 400.
The driver of the No. 22 Team Penske Pennzoil Ford Mustang turned a 29.024 second lap (186.053 mph) to easily supplant William Byron by 0.141 sec. for the pole position.
This pole run marks the 27th of Logano's NASCAR Cup Series career and it comes in his 510th career start.
Behind Logano and Byron in row one will be Ryan Blaney, Ty Gibbs, Kyle Busch, Kyle Larson, Brad Keselowski, Ross Chastain, Austin Cindric and Christopher Bell rounded out the top-10 fastest qualifiers for Sunday's race.
For Gibbs, who will be making his 18th career NASCAR Cup Series start on Sunday, this is the best qualifying run of his young career.
