On Tuesday, Hendrick Motorsports officially unveiled the new-look No. 24 Z HP Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 that will take to the racetrack in Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series event at Las Vegas Motor Speedway with 2024 Daytona 500 winner William Byron.
The paint scheme vastly differs from the white and silver design that Byron carried in the NASCAR Cup Series Playoff Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway’s ROVAL last Fall, with a brand-new element of blue on the front half of the Chevrolet Camaro, as well as a darker, black nose.
Byron’s first on-track appearance with the newly-designed No. 24 Z HP Chevrolet Camaro will be in Sunday’s Pennzoil 400 Presented by Jiffy Lube at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the facility where he scored his first of his series-leading six victories in the NASCAR Cup Series last season.
In addition to Sunday’s 400-miler in Las Vegas, the No. 24 Z by HP Chevrolet Camaro will return to the racetrack later this season at Bristol Motor Speedway in September.
A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, Byron has risen to prominence in the NASCAR Cup Series over the last three seasons, scoring nine victories, 21 top-fives, and 33 top-10 results, including a victory in the Daytona 500, one of NASCAR’s most prestigious events.
At 26 years old, Byron is quickly becoming one of NASCAR’s household names, after a breakout season in 2023 that saw him advance to the Championship 4 at Phoenix Raceway, ultimately coming up short in third place, after leading 95 laps in the season finale.
The storyline of how Byron advanced to the NASCAR Cup Series makes him a perfect partner for a company like HP, as the 2017 NASCAR Xfinity Series champion grew up racing on a computer, using iRacing to hone his craft, eventually landing him in the world of NASCAR.
In September, Hendrick Motorsports and HP jointly announced an elevated relationship that would see the technology giant partner with up-and-coming superstar William Byron as a two-race primary sponsor for the 2024, 2025, and 2026 NASCAR Cup Series campaigns.
After the second race of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season, Byron sits tied for second place in series point standings with Austin Cindric, just a single marker behind Kyle Busch.
