Toyota swept the Xfinity Fastest Lap awards during NASCAR Championship Weekend at Phoenix Raceway, with Denny Hamlin, Brandon Jones and Corey Heim earning the distinctions during the final races of the 2025 season.
While Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series Championship ended in heartbreak for Hamlin, he set the Xfinity Fastest Lap of the race in his pursuit of the title. Hamlin clocked a lap of 27.566 seconds on lap 287, leading the way late before a caution for an incident involving William Byron changed the complexion of the race.
Ryan Blaney took the win, while Kyle Larson finished third to secure the championship ahead of Hamlin in sixth.
It was the ninth time Hamlin earned the Xfinity Fastest Lap Award in the Cup Series during the 2025 season. That total led the NASCAR Cup Series during the first year of the Xfinity Fastest Lap Award. Three drivers tied for second with four Fastest Laps - A.J. Allmendinger, Kyle Larson and Michael McDowell.
Brandon Jones turned a lap of 28.165 seconds on the second lap of the NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship Race, which held up as the Xfinity Fastest Lap of the race. Jesse Love scored the victory in the race, earning the series title.
It was the third time Jones earned the Xfinity Fastest Lap award in 2025. Previously, Jones logged the fastest lap at Dover Motor Speedway and in the fall race at Kansas Speedway.
The weekend started with Corey Heim claiming the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series championship spectacularly, including a seven-wide maneuver on a late restart.
Heim earned eight Xfinity Fastest Lap awards in a dominant season, which included 12 wins in 25 starts en route to the series title.
For NASCAR's three National Series, the 2026 season begins at Daytona International Speedway in February. The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series takes the green flag on Friday, February 14, followed by the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series on Saturday, February 15. The Daytona 500 kicks off the NASCAR Cup Series season on Sunday, February 15.
