Austin Hill, an eight-time NASCAR Xfinity Series race-winning driver, will run the upcoming NASCAR Cup Series Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400 at Texas Motor Speedway on April 14. Hill will pilot a third entry, the No. 33 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, for Richard Childress Racing in the event.

Understandably, Hill is excited about the opportunity to battle it out on a Sunday.

“United Rentals has supported me throughout all of the key moments of my racing career so far, which makes their involvement in my upcoming NASCAR Cup Series starts for Richard Childress Racing that much more special,” said Hill. “I’m happy to have another opportunity to race in the Cup Series for RCR. The amount of success that we’ve been able to accomplish together in the Xfinity Series makes me excited for this slate of races. It’s not going to be easy, competing against the best drivers on Sundays, but I’m thankful to Richard, everyone at RCR, and United Rentals for allowing this Cup Series schedule to come to life. Racing a Next Gen Chevrolet at a mile-and-a-half will be a new challenge, but one that I’m looking forward to.”

Hill’s longtime primary sponsorship partner, United Rentals will support the driver as his sponsor in four NASCAR Cup Series events this season, beginning with next weekend’s contest in Fort Worth, Texas. The remainder of Hill’s NASCAR Cup Series schedule with United Rentals and RCR has yet to be announced,

“We are excited to support Richard Childress Racing and Austin Hill in the NASCAR Cup Series.” said Craig Schmidt, vice president of national accounts, United Rentals. “We have a great partnership with Austin and RCR and look forward to supporting them and giving our customers an unforgettable experience.”

The racer has been extremely loyal to the Richard Childress Racing team since moving to the organization in 2022. Hill even opted to remain with RCR in the NASCAR Xfinity Series despite offers on the table to join other organizations in the NASCAR Cup Series in 2024.

Richard Childress Racing is elated to give Hill this shot in their NASCAR Cup Series equipment.

“We’re proud to represent a great brand like United Rentals, and to be a part of their efforts to help Austin achieve success at the next level,” said Torrey Galida, president of RCR. “United Rentals is a long-time supporter of our sport and they have done a superb job of using their relationship with Austin to achieve their business goals from an on-site activation and hosting standpoint.”

The 29-year-old driver has made six starts in his NASCAR Cup Series career with a best finish of 14th coming in the Summer race at Daytona International Speedway last season.

While the Winston, GA native has never competed in a NASCAR Cup Series race at the 1.5-mile speedway in Fort Worth, TX, he has finished top-10 in his last three NASCAR Xfinity Series starts at the facility. Hill finished runner-up at Texas Motor Speedway in the 2022 fall NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Texas.

Through the opening six races of the 2024 NASCAR Xfinity Series season, Hill has yet to finish outside of the top 10. The driver of the No. 21 Richard Childress Racing Xfinity machine has two wins, a 3.3 average finish, and sits second in the NASCAR Xfinity Series regular-season championship standings.

Before moving to the NASCAR Xfinity Series full-time in 2022, Hill had recorded eight victories in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.
