Barre, VT and Naples, ME — Officials from the American Canadian Tour (ACT) and the Pro All Star Series (PASS) are very pleased to announce that Weston Automotive has signed on to bring back the Triple Crown Series for the Sunoco Modifieds as a part of the 60th annual Sunoco World Series presented by Budweiser. The Weston Automotive Triple Crown Series for the Sunoco Modifieds was introduced at the 59th World Series and will return for a second edition.
“We are thrilled to partner with Weston Automotive to continue the Triple Crown for the Sunoco Modifieds,” said ACT managing partner Cris Michaud, “We were very happy with the turnout and the racing last year, but were not sure we would be able to do it again in 2022, until Chris over at Weston Automotive stepped in.”
The Weston Automotive Triple Crown once again puts the Sunoco Modifieds at the forefront of the World Series as the only division that will run all three days! Last year Connecticut Modified ace Todd Owen was the inaugural Weston Automotive Triple Crown Champion with one win and two second-place runs last October. Owen, Mike Christopher Jr. and all others will have to face Thompson Sunoco Modified point leader, and three-time 2022 winner, Stephen Kopcik. Kopcik will certainly be a force on World Series weekend, the definition of a ‘sure bet.’
“I’ve been a race fan all my life and grew up at Thompson, and I just wanted to do something to help the track and the competitors,” Said Weston Automotive Owner Chris Kallback, “I am just so happy that ACT and PASS have stepped in to keep the Thompson Speedway Oval alive.”
