This weekend short track racing New Hampshire’s Seacoast are is going to be a little different. Star Speedway in Epping, NH is taking over the leadoff spot for one week only with a Friday night special under the lights as Lee USA Speedway prepares for the annual Ollie Silva Memorial on Saturday night.

With a quartet of racing divisions planned, including the fast and loud 350 Supermodifieds presented by Night Owl Creations, Star Speedway also has something special planned for the all the special friends of the track, the race fans. While tickets for Friday will be just $10, if you bring a friend to the races, you will both get in for just $15. Main grandstands open at 5:30pm, with post time for racing at 7pm ET.

In addition, fans aged 21 or older will also get first crack at Star Speedway’s brand-new beer garden, The Outside Groove Saloon, located on the Turn 4 end of the main grandstands. Those fans will now have an opportunity to have a drink and not miss a lap of the racing action.

This Friday being the first race at the Epping quarter-mile oval also means that the stretch run for the 2022 racing season is set to begin, with points titles soon to be decided.

As it so happens, the two tightest point races will each be on track on Friday night. The 350 Supermods saw Ben Tinker join the list of 2022 winners last time out on SBM Night. But, the title race is coming down to two drivers; Jeffrey Battle and Bobby Timmons III with only a single point separating the drivers of cars 14 and 13 respectively. The 40-lap Jim Belfiore Memorial this week is one of just three 350 Supermod point races remaining, with rounds on August 13 and 27 helping to decide the champion.

The title fight in the Woody’s Auto Street Stocks is also in a near deadlock with Jim Storace leading Adam Lovejoy by a mere two points heading into Friday night’s 30-lap feature event. The Street Stocks are also down to their last handful of races, with season set to be decided on Star’s Championship Night on September 24, just one week after the Star Classic Weekend September 16 – 18.

There will also be plenty of four-cylinder action on Friday night with the NAPA of Epping Mini Stocks and MLM Diagnostics Pure Stocks each taking to the asphalt for 25 laps of feature racing, to complete the four-division card.

It will be a night that will light the fuse on a great two days of racing on the Seacoast which will finish on Saturday night just 10 minutes up the road at Lee USA Speedway with the Big-Block Supermodifieds of the New England Supermodified Series being the centerpiece of the annual Ollie Silva Memorial.

We at Racing America as always hope to see you at the races, but if you cannot be in attendance, you can watch both nights of the New Hampshire Supermodified doubleheader live on RacingAmerica.tv. Friday’s broadcast at Star Speedway starts at 7pm sharp, while Saturday from Lee USA will go at approximately 8pm ET.
