Flex Schedule In Play for Race of Champions Weekend at Lake Erie

Lake Erie Speedway and Race of Champions management are prepared to utilize a “flex schedule” during this weekend’s Race of Champions Weekend in North East, Pa., including the prestigious Race of Champions 250, “The Greatest Tradition in Modified Racing.”

A flex schedule allows management to adjust the day’s timeline in response to circumstances such as weather or other factors to ensure the racing program is completed. This could mean starting a race earlier or later than originally scheduled, or adjusting qualifying programs to prioritize feature events. Many top facilities and sanctioning bodies employ this system as a customer-focused solution.

If a flex schedule adjustment is required, all changes will be communicated at least one hour in advance through:

• Track and Series social media platforms
• Public Address announcements at the speedway
• 107.3 FM radio for those on Lake Erie Speedway property

At this time, all events remain on schedule as previously announced. However, both the Track and Series want fans, teams, and officials to know that this contingency plan is in place to ensure the weekend’s racing is completed as planned.

This weekend’s events will also see champions crowned in the Race of Champions Late Model Series and Race of Champions Street Stock Series, further adding to the prestige of one of the region’s biggest racing weekends.

A Full Weekend Celebration

This year’s event is shaping up to be the biggest in Race of Champions history:

· Nine divisions in action, including all seven Race of Champions “Family of Series,” the WNY Mighty TQ Midgets, and the Chemung Speedrome Hobby Stocks.

· Several divisions making up rainouts from earlier this year, ensuring packed racing programs every day.

· Off-track, fans will enjoy the region’s biggest “Racing Party” atmosphere with camping, activities, and celebrations of the sport’s rich tradition.

· Friday, Sept. 12 – Practice for all divisions + FOAR SCORE Dash opener

· Saturday, Sept. 13 – Qualifying begins at 2:30 PM | Race of Champions 250 green flag by 6:30 PM (plus Hobby Stocks)

· Sunday, Sept. 14 – Features for Sportsman Modifieds, Late Models, TQ Midgets & more
