Anticipation is building for the 75th Annual Race of Champions, set to be held at Thompson Speedway on Saturday, October 11. For the first time in its storied history, "The Greatest Tradition in Modified Racing" will take place in New England, joining the prestigious Sunoco World Series Weekend.

The Race of Champions is the second-longest consecutively run auto race in North America, trailing only the Indianapolis 500. Since its inception at Langhorne (Pa.), the event has traveled to Trenton (N.J.), Pocono Raceway (Pa.) - on both the 2.5-mile triangle and three-quarter mile oval -- Flemington (N.J.), Oswego (N.Y.), Chemung (N.Y.), and most recently Lake Erie Speedway (Pa), where it has run the last nine years.

Now, the historic Thompson 5/8-mile oval will write the next chapter, a track where some of the greatest names in Modified racing have competed. Matt Hirschman, from Northampton, Pennsylvania, the winningest driver in the history of the event, has claimed victories at Oswego, Chemung, and Lake Erie.

"Thompson is going to provide a different challenge," said Hirschman. "It will be unique. We are looking forward to it and will be up to the challenge."

Hirschman will also be looking to clinch the 2025 Race of Champions (RoC) Modified Series championship with a strong performance at Thompson.

The 75th Annual Race of Champions 150 adds to an already action-packed Sunoco World Series Weekend at Thompson Speedway, which will take place on October 10 to 12.

Fans can stream all three days on RoCModifiedSeries.TV, powered by Racing America. Subscriptions include the entire 2025 Race of Champions season, 200+ live short track events, exclusive NASCAR content, and more.
