- This will be the 53rd running of the Apple Cup, first contested at Yakima Speedway. In 2022, it will be run at Tri-City Raceway (WA).

- Don Dowdy is the only seven-time winner of the Apple Cup. His wins came in the 1970s and early 1980s where he won seven of eight races.

- The Super Late Model Apple Cup winner will take home $10,000 for the win.

- Garrett Evans won his sixth Apple Cup 125 a year ago, and looks to tie Don Dowdy's record with a win on Sunday.

- The 2022 Apple Cup kicks off a 10-race schedule for the Northwest Super Late Model Series. They will visit six different venues in 2022 and end the season back at Tri-City Raceway (WA) for the Fall Classic.

- Preston Peltier is in Washington looking to add the Apple Cup to his racing resume. He has two Summer Showdown wins in the state of Washington.

- Garrett Evans won the Northwest Super Late Model Series title by 32 points over Bryce Bezanson in 2021. Evans finished all but one race in the top five and all in the top 10.

- Last year, the Northwest Super Late Model Series produced seven different winners in eight races. They hope to keep that type of parity in the 2022 season.
