Tanner Carter, the 15-year-old developing short-track standout, will be making his first start in the 2022 SpeedFest this weekend at Crisp Motorsports Park in the #15 Pro Late Model for TH Motorsports. Carter, who spent the past few seasons behind the wheel of a Super Truck in the Southeast Super Truck Series, will be set for 100 laps in the Pro Late Model portion of the event.
Heading into the race weekend, Tanner Dean hopes to put on a successful showing for his partners, team, and fans. Here's what he had to say about his feelings as he approaches the biggest race of his career.
"Racing big races like these are kind of wishy-washy. It's exciting because I get to race against big-named people, but also nerve-racking because I feel like I have to perform well because of all the people involved."
Carter previously finished a career high of second in the Pro Late Model towards the end of his 2021 season at Cordele. The driver out of Monroe, Georgia has one sizable goal set for the weekend.
"My goal for this weekend is to win it."
Paired up with a team as strong as TH Motorsports, Tanner feels as though he has all the pieces of the equation aligned to go out there, run up front, and bring home the elusive victory. He's up against an overwhelmingly stacked field of competitors, but the Late Model rookie does not let the veterans phase him. This Crisp Motorsports Park SpeedFest will be Tanner's 5th start in a Pro Late Model.
