With a big year ahead for the driver out of Monroe, Georgia, Tanner Carter is prepared to leave his mark at Montgomery Motor Speedway this weekend for the 58th running of the #Alabama200 in the TH Motorsports prepared Pro Late Model. Tanner's last time on track came back in January, where he picked up 8 spots to earn a top 10 in his first start of the year in the Crisp Motorsports Park Speedfest JEGS / CRA All-Stars Tour Presented By Chevrolet Performance Pro Late Model 100 lapper.

The team based out of Georgia will turn laps Friday afternoon in Montgomery in preparation for the Alabama 200. Crew chief, and TH Motorsports owner, Kyle Hood, has the #15 LMI Systems, INC. Chevy tuned up and ready to roll around the high-speed half mile racetrack. Hood has set expectations for the North Creek Construction Group team, and we caught up with him to see what he's looking forward to for the weekend.

"We are looking to back up the solid runs we've had starting at the end of last season that carried over into Speedfest," said Hood. "Just hoping to improve on our qualifying efforts as a team. We're striving to have a solid top 10 finish with this stacked field."

Saturday's race will be Carter's 3rd start at Montgomery Motor Speedway, with the first two races dating back to 2021 where Tanner finished 11th in the Saturday of Speed race. Headed into the next big event in his young Late Model career, Tanner must overcome a field of over 35 hungry Pro Late Models drivers that are all chasing the iconic Bear trophy made famous at the Alabama 200.

"We have to be patient," said Carter. "It's a long race, so we just need to keep the nose clean for the most part of the race and it should all play out."

In preparation for his 2nd start of the season, Tanner had to mentally and physically prepare himself for 200 laps behind the wheel of the #15.

"Since the last race, I've been hydrating a lot sooner."

Tanner and team are ready for Montgomery and look forward to the challenges ahead of them.

"I want to personally thank TH Motorsports, North Creek, LMI, Weavers, and Richter Designs for allowing me to be here this weekend."

The 2022 Alabama 200 will be broadcasted live on Racing America starting at 7:30pm ET.
