Late Model Stock Cars
Racing America to Broadcast 23rd Thanksgiving Classic at Southern National
Nov 15, 2023
A field of 28 Late Model Stock Cars is entered for Sunday's Solid Rock Carriers Thanksgiving Classic at Southern National Motorsports Park.
The event, with a history dating back to 1998, routinely draws big names from the Late Model Stock world in one of the final races of the season. Past winners of the event include the likes of Scott Riggs, Denny Hamlin, and Matt McCall.
Of course, one notable name on this year's entry list is two-time race winner Josh Berry. Now teamed up with Kevin Harvick Inc. and Rodney Childers, Berry will be looking to become the first ever three-time winner of the event.
Other past winners on the entry list include Deac McCaskill (2006) and Ronnie Bassett, Jr. (2013). Few drivers can rival McCaskill's success at one of his home tracks, as McCaskill is a four-time track champion and boasts three CARS Tour wins at Southern National, including this year's season opener.
Brenden Queen finished the CARS Tour season on a hot streak, winning three of the final four races in a battle for the championship ultimately won by Carson Kvapil. Queen carries that momentum into Southern National this weekend, looking for another Lee Pulliam Performance victory in the Thanksgiving Classic after Pulliam won the event as a driver in 2017.
Other notables on the entry list include former CARS Tour champion Jared Fryar, 2009 ValleyStar Credit Union 300 winner Jake Crum and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series competitor Kaden Honeycutt. The full Late Model Stock Car entry list can be viewed below.
The Thanksgiving Classic features three days of racing, with more than 230 registrations across nine divisions. The Legends division racing on Friday and Saturday nights features 50 entries as of Wednesday afternoon.
Fans can watch all weekend long with a subscription to RacingAmerica.TV if they are unable to attend the event in-person.
