D.J. Shaw is riding the momentum of some strong finishes and a two-pronged championship battle into the 47th Fall Foliage 200 presented by Bar Harbor Bank & Trust at White Mountain Motorsports Park on September 13.
The hottest days of summer are behind him, but a recent run of strong finishes has thrust DJ Shaw squarely into the heat of another two-pronged title chase in the final weeks of the season.
Shaw and his No. 60 Bar Harbor Bank & Trust machine held second place in the Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour standings and topped the Pro All Stars Series North standings following Labor Day Weekend.
Shaw's podium finish at Thunder Road International Speedbowl for its Labor Day Classic -- his fifth top-five in 11 starts -- pulled him within 43 points of ACT leader Raphael Lessard in the season-long standings.
"This is probably one of those places that I don't necessarily come thinking [the podium] is where I'll end up," Shaw said after his performance at Thunder Road. "All in all, to come out of here with a podium is a win for our team. It keeps us in the fight, gets us that much closer, and lights a fire under all of us."
And on the PASS North circuit, Shaw has surged into the fall slate. He snapped a three-year winless drought at Oxford Plains Speedway with a pair of wins there in early August, then followed that up with a second and a third at the same venue just two weeks later, the latter coming in the All That's Metal Oxford 250.
It should come as little surprise that the red-hot Shaw can rely on one of North New England's leading community banks, Bar Harbor Bank & Trust, whose support for racing also includes sponsorship for the upcoming 47th Fall Foliage 200 on September 13 at White Mountain Motorsports Park.
Founded more than 135 years ago, Bar Harbor Bank & Trust knows the value of teamwork and how a dedicated team working together can accomplish incredible things -- on and off the track. And Shaw's gratitude for his hard-working team and supporters aligns with how Bar Harbor Bank & Trust approaches its own team and the communities it serves.
