The Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Model season comes to a dramatic conclusion this Sunday, October 19 at Oxford Plains Speedway. The Spencer Group Paving PASS 400 Weekend concludes with the championship-deciding PASS 400.
Who will win the marquee event? Could one driver win $100,000? Who will walk away as the 2025 PASS champion?
It is possible one of the nearly 40 PASS Super Late Model drivers entered for the PASS 400 will leave Oxford Plains Speedway with $100,000 on Sunday.
The PASS 400 is divided into three segments - two 100-lap segments, followed by the final 200-lap segment. Each segment pays $25,000 to win, a huge payday making each segment a race worth winning.
There is also a purse up for grabs for the overall points scored over the course of the three segments. The driver who accumulates the lowest score across the three segments will also receive $25,000. Thus, if a driver can win all three segments, that driver will walk away with a six-digit payday.
PASS 400 weekend was originally scheduled as a Saturday and Sunday show. However, racing will begin on Friday with the rescheduled PASS Kennebec Equipment Rental 150. This will double as both a PASS North championship event and a chance for teams to prepare for Sunday's race.
On Saturday, the Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour takes center stage with the Pine Tree State 125. PASS teams will also contest qualifying races to set the starting lineup for Sunday's first segment.
The PASS 400 on Sunday starts with a 100-lap segment. In each segment, drivers will be scored based on finishing position - one point for first place, two points for second place, and so forth through the field.
The top 25 cars in the field in segment one will be inverted to form the starting lineup in segment two. Another 100-lap segment, the field will once again battle in hopes of earning the lowest score possible.
The third and final segment is longer, at 200 laps, but features the same 25-car invert. The event purse payout will be paid out based on the scores from all three segments, with $25,000 going to the driver with the lowest combined score across the three segments.
While the event payout covers the entire field, the $25,000 segment bonuses are winner-take-all. Each segment will be a balance of battling for the $25,000 segment win and putting yourself in a position to continue the fight for the rest of the PASS 400.
An already tight Pro All Stars Series Championship will undoubtedly come down to the final lap on Sunday, with the potential for plenty of twists and turns along the way.
Entering the weekend, D.J. Shaw leads Johnny Clark by just nine points. Clark's late-season charge, including a pair of wins at White Mountain Motorsports Park, has breathed new life into the title fight.
However, each segment of the PASS 400 pays full championship points. The weekend also starts with the make-up of the PASS Kennebec Equipment Rental 150 at Oxford Plains. Thus, there will be four opportunities for the points battle to fluctuate, three of which coming on the final day of the season.
Along with final championship positioning, drivers who have competed full-time on the PASS circuit will also be eligible for PASS 400 Weekend bonuses based on their finish in the third and final segment. Whether you are first or fifth in the points, there is plenty on the line this weekend.
