It was a pair of Tennessee drivers scoring wins in Alabama on Saturday night, Aidan Potter and Hunter Wright claimed the checkered flags at Montgomery Motor Speedway in Show Me the Money Series twin features.

In the first 72-lap feature, Aidan Potter was the man to beat. After setting fast time in qualifying, he maintained the number one spot during the redraw and led from flag to flag in a convincing victory.

Not only was it a dominant win, but it produced one of the most excited and emotional victory lanes in some time. The overjoyed Potter celebrated the biggest win of his young career.

"I don't even know where to start right now," said Potter. "It's been about 1,100 days since I last won, a little over three years. Only God and my family knows how bad I've wanted this. It's eaten me alive every time I hear something about my name, it's that one kid who hasn't won yet in a while. It's just been a minute. I love this feeling. I love winning. What better way to do it than the way we did it?"

"I dedicate this win to Sean, Jesse and Jennifer Lepore. I've been needing to say this for a very long time, but I finally got to say it now. I hope them boys are proud of you up in heaven. First and foremost, I want to thank God. Not a lot of people believe in me in my worst times, but God did.

"Another one that did is Fetcho Motorsports. They took me out of an area where nobody wanted me, they picked me up, they gave me a shot, and we're winners here in Montgomery, baby."

After finishing third in the first feature, Wright started on the pole for the second 72-lapper to close out the evening. Like Potter, Wright led every lap in a convincing victory.

Wright recognized early in the first race that he would not be able to compete with Potter and Garrett Gumm without a timely caution, and managed his tires for the second feature. When the redraw put him on the pole, that opened the door for a victory.

"Got a little lucky on the draw there," said Wright. "I knew the first two in the first race used their left sides up pretty good. Jim and I, we saved ours a little bit better. Worked out for all of us in the end."

Wall finished second, backing up a fourth-place finish in the first feature. While Wall has not finished worse than fifth in a single Show Me the Money race this season, he is also still searching for his first career win.

"This is the second or third time we've finished on the podium this year," said Wall. "It's starting to sting a little bit. We worked for years to get to the podium. We just need to break the ice and get that first win.

"The car is really good. Hunter and I were very equal right there. He drove a great race running his line, where I couldn't catch him. Just two really even cars right there. I'd have liked to see a late caution to see where we stacked up, but we're just thankful to bring it home P2."

Garrett Gumm tallied a pair of podium finishes, finishing second in the first race and third in the nightcap. He found some speed in the second half of the race using a higher line through the corners to fend off John Bolen.

"This race, I didn't have the drive up off the bottom like we wanted," said Gumm following the second race. "I was running the bottom until Bolen got to me. Then I was forced around the top there. Once I found that out, we were pretty quick on the top. I just stayed there the rest of the race.

"I wish we could have found that sooner, because we ran down the leaders pretty quick. Really good car again. Just made a good adjustment. It's not perfect, but it was pretty good on the long run."

Potter's bid for a sweep ended early in the second half. Shortly after going to the rear of the field after contact with Christopher Tullis, Potter hit the outside wall in a separate incident entering turn one.

The Modifieds of Mayhem return to Montgomery Motor Speedway for the track's next event on September 13. Street Stocks, Late Model Sportsman and Outlaws are also on the schedule for the event.
