Carson Kvapil Claims CARS Tour Pole at Wilkesboro
Aug 31, 2022
The partnership begins with tonight's CARS Tour event at North Wilkesboro Speedway.
R&S Race Cars announced that PepperJack Kennels will sponsor the team with driver Jonathan Shafer in the No. 91 Toyota Camry Late Model for four races this season, including: the CARS Tour events at North Wilkesboro (N.C.) Speedway and Ace Speedway in Attamahaw, N.C., as well as the Triple Crown race at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway and the Rodney Cook Classic also at Ace Speedway.
PepperJack Kennels provides exceptional water and land training year-round with its main facility in Wisconsin, and spending months in California and Texas during the winter months at dedicated training facilities. Their programs focus on all aspects of retriever training from their puppy head start program, basic obedience to gun dog training. Field Trial Training is their most advanced training and program. They specialize in retriever training by keeping a small amount of dogs in their programs at one time. This allows them to focus on the individual needs of each dog and keep them in a family environment.
As avid race fans and owners of PepperJack Kennels, Misty and Marty Melo are proud sponsors of multiple motorsports teams at the grassroots level, helping to support the next generation of race car drivers while introducing fans to the world of retriever training.
“Sponsoring young drivers at the grassroots level has been a great experience for us and our business,” said Marty, general manager of PepperJack Kennels. “We met Marcus and Tracey Richmond at a track and started talking about working on a deal. It finally came together, and we’re excited to be a part of the R&S Race Cars team. They build fast cars and Jonathan seems to be hitting his stride right now, so the timing could not have been better.”
Shafer celebrated his first CARS Tour win on August 12 at Ace Speedway after dominating the race from the pole position. He took the checkered flag in his 31st start in the series with Marcus Richmond atop the pit box as crew chief.
“I’m thankful for people like Marty and Misty who see the value in supporting the grassroots racing teams and young drivers,” said Richmond. “They picked four great races to have PepperJack Kennels on our Camry. Jonathan just got his first win at Ace this month, so it was a smart decision for them to sponsor two more races with him there, as well as at Martinsville and North Wilkesboro. We’d love to get their brand in Victory Lane.”
