At the 2023 banquet celebrating the Champions and contenders of the highly successful inaugural season under the ownership of Rex and Sarah Wheeler, the itinerary of events for the much anticipated 2024 season was announced.

29 events are on the docket for the aggressive schedule with one Wednesday night, six Sundays and 22 Saturday events.

The season kicks off on Saturday April 27th for the 85th Opening Night in track history, highlighted by the first of 14 race nights for the open wheeled Modifieds.

The Modifieds will be the stars of the show several times over the course of the season, including the third ever visit from the Midwest Modifieds Tour powered by Wheeler Trucking on July 27. Just two weeks later, one of the biggest and most prestigious events for the open wheeled warriors returns to the Owosso Speedway with the tenth running of the Hot Shoe 100, as the event calls Owosso Speedway home for the second time after a highly successful debut at the Big O in 2023.

After a stellar four-race schedule in 2023, the Outlaw Super Late Models have added a visit in what will be known as the Owosso 500. These events will be ran as a mini-series within the Reveal the Hammer Outlaw Super Late Model Series. Their first visit will highlight Michigan Auto Racing Fan Club Night on May 18. Wednesday, June 19 will be the return of the Bob Finley Memorial marking the return of midweek racing to the historic .375 mile oval for the first time in decades. The third leg of the series takes place on July 20. August 24 will be the 13th annual Ron Hauser Memorial, and then a Champion will be crowned on during the 29th Owosso Nationals September 21.

On the template side of Super Late Model racing, two premiere tours will both make their first ever visits to the Owosso Speedway. The SRL National Tour will run the first ever Love’s Travel Center 150 on June 15. The ASA STARS National Tour will return the historic ASA name to the Big O on August 17. The Pro Late Models will not be left out either as the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour also returns for the pair of dates. The Big O Classic 100 on May 25, and then the crown jewel of Pro Late Model racing, the Masters of the Pros 185 makes its second visit to Owosso on August 3.

The Winged car fans will not be left out as the Must See Racing Sprint car National Series and Midwest Lights return in 2024 for a pair of dates. June 22 and August 31 will be the dates to mark down if you’re a fan of Sprint car racing.

Fans of Destruction will not be left out in 2024! Six Sundays will see action on the brand new figure 8 course with May 19, June 16, July 14, August 11, September 8, and the final event of 2024 on September 29.

The weekly divisions will be well represented throughout the season. Late Model Sportsman will see action seven times, Street Stocks 14 times, Pure Stocks 15 times, All-American Trucks 14 times, Sport Compacts 16 times, and Mini-Wedges eight times.

Other traveling series that will visit in 2024 include The MCR Dwarf Cars, National Compact Touring Series, and VROA Vintage Modifieds. The exciting $5,000 to win Spectator Drags return on September 7.

And of course the Iconic Owosso Nationals will take place for the 29th time on September 20-21 to close out the circle track portion of the 2024 season.

Thanks to the help of the many sponsors and supporters of the Speedway general admission will remain $14 in 2024 with all patrons 20 and under free. Look to the track social media channels and website as continued details for the season are released.
