The Northwest Super Late Model Series presented by Knottical Marine is excited to announce that the pre-entry for the 13th annual “Summer Showdown 200” has reached 30 teams. Eight states are represented on the entry list for the $30,000-to-win event, slated for July 17-19 at Evergreen Speedway (WA). A large field of Pro Late Models are also expected to race for $5,000 on Friday night.
The all-star entry includes former “Showdown” winners, Super Late Model touring series champions, Evergreen Speedway champions, multi-time Super Late Model track champions, and even a Trophy Truck Class winner. Owen Riddle and Kole Raz will lead the star-studded entry as former “Summer Showdown” winners. Raz was the winner in 2023 with Riddle capturing the crown in 2021. Riddle’s effort will be led by four-time “Summer Showdown” winner Preston Peltier, with the team coming off a victory in the “Wenatchee 200” at the Wenatchee Valley Super-Oval (WA). Raz has scored multiple big Super Late Model victories over the last several seasons.
Hayden Plybon and Kasey Kleyn will lead the former Northwest Super Late Model Series (NWSLMS) champion’s contingent. Kleyn was the champion in 2024 with Plybon earning the title in 2023. Plybon currently leads the 2025 standings and finished second in the 2023 edition of the “Showdown”. Buddy Shepherd, the 2024 SRL Southwest Tour Series champion, will make his third “Showdown” appearance, where he has yet to finish outside the top 10. Former NWSLMS winners on the entry include Kleyn, Plybon, Jan Evans, Riddle, Johvan Dillon, Max Schroeder, Randy Marshall Jr., Raz, and Doni Wanat.
The East Coast will be represented by Florida’s Michael Atwell and North Carolina’s Tristin McKee. Atwell is coming off one of his biggest career victories, in the 2025 “Rattler 250” at South Alabama Speedway (AL). He will be racing for Chris Davidson Racing out of Texas. McKee is the youngest CARS Tour winner in series history at the age of 12. He was the second youngest winner in the Trans AM Series and possesses multiple Pro Late Model victories. He will be racing with Preston Peltier Racing out of Colorado.
Speaking of Colorado, Jace Hansen will make the trip from Greeley, CO to Evergreen for the third time. Like Shepherd, he has yet to finish outside the top 10 in the Northwest’s most prestigious race. He is a multi-time SRL race winner as well as earning double digit wins in his Super Late Model at Colorado National Speedway (CO). He is coming off a fourth-place effort in last December’s “Snowball Derby” at 5 Flags Speedway (FL).
Evergreen Speedway will send a bevy of former track champions to the tilt as well. The group is led by seven-time Late Model track champion Naima Lang. 2024 Pro Late Model champion Wyatt Gardner also finds his name on the early entry list, after winning the Pro Late Model portion of the event last year. Former Legends champion Gabe Sessler will make his first start in the “Summer Showdown”. Former Stringer and Hornets champion Dawson Cox is also entered. Cox set the Evergreen Speedway Pro Late Model Track Record back in April.
The states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, North Carolina, Colorado, Arizona, Florida, and California are currently represented on the entry list. The “Summer Showdown 200” will be Round #4 of the Northwest Super Late Model Series presented by Knottical Marine season and will mark the midway point of the championship schedule. $30,000 will be paid to the winner with $2,000 paid to start. $800 will be awarded to any teams who fail to transfer through the Last Chance Qualifying race, to make up the 38-car starting field.
