Officials at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway have announced that the racing program originally scheduled for Saturday, May 3 has been postponed to Sunday afternoon, May 4.
Officials at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway have announced that the racing program originally scheduled for Saturday, May 3 has been postponed to Sunday afternoon, May 4, due to persistent wet track conditions that proved insurmountable despite ongoing drying efforts.
Following multiple rounds of rainfall throughout the day, officials worked to adjust the Saturday schedule in hopes of completing the full slate of racing. However, the final batch of precipitation, coupled with high humidity and lower temperatures, ultimately halted track drying progress and forced the postponement.
“We did everything in our power to get the event in,” said promoter, Bob Sargent. “Unfortunately, the weather conditions just wouldn’t cooperate, and we had to make the call with the safety of drivers in mind. We want to thank everyone for sticking with us through the frustrating day of weather.”
The rescheduled event will now take place Sunday, May 4, with an adjusted race day schedule as follows:
Fans who purchased tickets for Saturday’s event are encouraged to return Sunday with their ticket for admission. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the gate on race day. The ¼-mile race that was canceled on Friday night will be made up at a new date to be announced in the near future.
