JACKSONVILLE, NC – The two local tracks in the Crystal Coast region are teaming up for a doubleheader weekend on Memorial Day weekend – with races on Saturday night at Goodyear All American Speedway and Sunday night at Bobby Watson’s Carteret County Speedway.

Bombers, Late Models, Legends, and U-CARs will be in action at Goodyear All American Speedway on Saturday, May 28, and at Bobby Watson’s Carteret County Speedway, located in Peletier, North Carolina, on Sunday, May 29. Drivers who compete at both tracks will be entered into a drawing to win up to $300 at Carteret.

“We’re excited to be able to work with Bob Lowery and the staff at Carteret County Speedway for something that will benefit the racers,” Anthony Goodyear, owner of Goodyear All American Speedway, said. “We’re looking forward to being able to work with Carteret more in the future since we have so many racers in this community that run both tracks. I believe, in my heart, we can make this region the strongest in racing if we continue to work together.”

Drivers who race at Goodyear All American Speedway on Saturday can either display or turn in their wristband from the track on Sunday when they arrive at Carteret County Speedway. Once they do so, they will be entered into a random drawing where three drivers will be selected. One will win a $300 prize, another taking $200, and a third claiming $100.

“We’re excited to come together and work with Anthony [Goodyear] and his team at Goodyear All American Speedway to give back to the racers that support short track racing in our area,” Carteret County Speedway owner Bob Lowery said. “With us working together, even in this small way, the racers, fans, and sponsors along the Crystal Coast all benefit. We will continue to do what’s best to keep short track racing alive and well in Eastern North Carolina and we’re happy to do so with Goodyear All American Speedway for a Memorial Day weekend that you won’t soon forget."

Plans are already in the works for a similar deal on Independence Day Weekend, when Carteret County hosts a race on Saturday night and Goodyear All American Speedway races on Sunday night.

The May 28 race at Goodyear All American Speedway is headlined by the B-52 Bomber Car Battle, which pays $520-to-win and $52-to-start and runs for 52 laps. Along with Bombers, Late Models, Legends and U-CARs, Mini Stocks and Bandoleros will also be in action.

The Memorial Day Classic at Bobby Watson’s Carteret County Speedway is headlined by round two of the Big Money Late Model Series. In addition to Late Models, Bombers, Legends and U-CARs, Carteret will also host the Southern Ground Pounders Vintage Racing Club and Jr. Mini Cups.
