Officials at the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) announced today a new “Bottle Cap” crate engine option will be available for all PASS competitors for the 2024 season. The first order for the new Bottle Cap Crate option, which was tested throughout the 2023 season, will be placed on November 1st and be made available to competitors for only $8800 plus tax.

PASS president Tom Mayberry commented about the new engine package option, “As always we are on the lookout for ways to save money for the teams. The bottle cap engine program is another way for teams to save money on their engine bill by simply dropping in a race ready motor without making any changes.”

Mayberry went on to explain that each engine will come straight from GM and to the PASS approved engine builder, LCM Racing Engines, for a dyno break in and test. LCM will set the timing, perform a 4 hour break in procedure on each engine with Driven Racing break in oil, and then provide the first oil change with Mobil 1 15/50 at the discounted rate of only $750.

Team’s provide only a distributor and fuel pump and will pick up a race ready engine at the end of the test. All engine numbers will be scanned and further sealed with two PASS specific engine seals.

“We felt like it was important to provide a good break in procedure to verify that each engine is performing at its optimum level when it leaves the Engine Shop,” Said Mayberry. “LCM has agreed to do this at a discounted rate so we can keep the total cost to teams under $10k.”

Teams running the bottle cap crate option will be afforded a 25 lb. weight break at every track on the PASS schedule, with additional breaks at Thompson and New Hampshire Motor Speedway TBD.

Mayberry went on to say he will continue to offer this option with weight breaks at these prices as long as shipping and engine costs remain the same. He further explained that any bottle cap sealed engine contained in a LCM Racing Engines entry will be available for purchase at the track by any racer in competition that day.

“In testing the engine, we found that it had more than enough power everywhere we used it,” said driver Dennis Spencer Jr. “I think it’s a great low cost option that will help save racers a lot of money.”
