Chase Elliott Enters Clyde Hart Memorial at New Smyrna
Feb 2, 2024
An entry list boasting more than 40 cars has been unveiled for the 25th Clyde Hart Memorial at New Smyrna Speedway, the first race of the 2024 ASA STARS National Tour season.
The big news of Friday was the announcement that Chase Elliott would be joining the field of Super Late Model standouts for the race on Tuesday, February 13 before heading to Daytona International Speedway for the rest of the week to prepare for the Daytona 500. Elliott is a three-time race winner in the ASA Southern Super Series, which is co-sanctioning event alongside the ASA STARS National Tour and New Smyrna's David Rogers Super Late Model division.
However, he'll go against some of the best Super Late Model drivers across North America in the race, with 16 states and two Canadian provinces represented. The entry list includes the title contenders from ASA's inaugural season, Ty Majeski and Cole Butcher, as well as SpeedFest winner Bubba Pollard, NASCAR Canada Series champion Treyten Lapcevich, ASA Southern Super Series champions Stephen Nasse, Casey Roderick and Gio Ruggiero and more.
The Clyde Hart Memorial is part of the nine nights of racing known as the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing. Last year, Casey Roderick claimed the Super Late Model championship in the World Series. Other World Series champions on the entry list include Derek Griffith, the aforementioned trio of Majeski, Pollard and Nasse, and Jeff Choquette as part of his return to Super Late Model racing.
