Not only is the momentum building for the Tar Heel 250 ASA STARS National Tour event at Hickory Motor Speedway, but also for its supporting class on Thursday, May 25. The Limited Late Models have been a cornerstone of Hickory’s program.
The interest in the Limited Late Model race, which is part of Thursday Thunder in the Foothills, is certainly building in the Tri-State region of North Carolina, Virginia and South Carolina.
Part of the reason for the hype is due to a reasonable purse for the 50-lap Limited Late Model event, which is scheduled for immediately following the ASA STARS National Tour event, the Tar Heel 250.
Track Enterprises, which is promoting the event, will pay $1,000 to the winner of the event. The important part of the structure of the purse is that it pays fairly throughout the top-10 positions. The second place finisher will receive $500, while the fifth place driver across the line will be paid $300. 10th place will pay the team’s tire bill for the event.
