Kyle Busch will once again make the trip to Oxford Plains Speedway on July 1-2, taking part in the Celebration of America 300.
The NASCAR Cup Series driver for Richard Childress Racing competed in the inaugural Celebration of America 300 last year, as well as the Memorial Day Clash 200 earlier this year at the Maine facility. Now, he'll be back for the second leg of the Oxford Crown Jewel Triple Crown Series.
“I’ve got some unfishined business up there in Maine,” said Busch in a video posted on the Oxford Plains Speedway Facebook page. “I’m looking forward to coming back up to Oxford Plains Speedway for the Celebration of America 300 on July 1-2. Be sure to be there."
Busch had a strong showing in the Memorial Day Clash 200, finishing eighth and running as high as second place during the first half of the event. The former Oxford 250 winner hopes for another strong showing during the mid-week showcase, piloting the No. 51 for Go Fas Racing.
"I’m going to be running in the CorvetteParts.Net No. 51 car for Go Fas Racing," added Busch. "It’s going to be a lot of fun racing against all the northerners again. I enjoyed it last time. I want to go up there this time and get back into victory lane."
Naturally, Busch also threw in some good-natured ribbing of his NASCAR Cup Series spotter, Derek Kneeland, who is also entered to race in the event.
“Of course, Derek, he’s got no shot," joked Busch. "We’re not worried about him. We’re worried about the other guys.”
Busch's name joins an entry list for the Celebration of America 300 currently boasting 33 competitors. Twin 75-lap qualifying races on Tuesday, July 1 will set the field for the 300-lap Super Late Model contest on Wednesday, July 2.
