The 2025 season has been a learning experience at nearly every step for Seth Christensen.

The Georgia native has stayed busy all year long. Between being a finalist in the Kulwicki Driver Development Program, racing for multiple teams across the United States, and school work, you never know where you might find Christensen.

Throwing Back to Alan

In August, Christensen represented Kulwicki with a special livery on his JC Motorsports Pro Late Model at Hickory Motor Speedway. Taking part in the zMAX CARS Tour Throwback Classic, Christensen's car bore the familiar colors of Kulwicki's Hooters "Underbird" from the memorable 1992 NASCAR Cup Series championship season.

“It meant the world,” said Christensen. “It was super cool to go there with the JC Motorsports team and honor Alan as well as talk about some of his previous races with some of the fans. There was a ton of fan interaction during the autograph session and just in general in the pits.

"Just seeing people, telling me how cool the car looked. It was really cool to work with Hooters and JC Motorsports to get that car looking as good as it was, and we didn't finish too bad, either. One spot shy of a top five really isn't that bad for a CARS Tour race."

JC Motorsports is just one of several teams Christenseh has driven for during the 2025 season. Those opportunities have allowed him to race everywhere from Michigan to Alabama and all points in between.

"After a couple of races with everybody, the JC Motorsports crew has made it just amazing to work with, in general. They give me an opportunity to race when I thought I didn't have one this year. So I'm very thankful for them and the opportunity that they've given me to build myself and to build their program as well."

The trips to Michigan for events like Berlin Raceway's Money in the Bank 150 and TEKTON 250 Battle at Berlin have also allowed Christensen to race close to his family's home as well.

"It's been a dream of mine to race up there," said Christensen. "My dad raced up there, his dad as well. To be a third-generation racer in the West Michigan area is super cool."

Working With His Mentors

Christensen has plenty of support in his corner, starting with his father. Able to lean on his racing experience and fatherly love, Christensen credits his dad for much of his success through the years.

"We've been racing since I was five years old, so about just over 12 years now," Christensen said. "To learn from my dad and to get some of the tough love that he gives me all the time has been very crucial to, in my opinion, my development."

Like so many others before him, Christensen has also learned valuable lessons by working with the Kulwicki Driver Development Program and its leaders and mentors.

"I had a couple struggles earlier in the year, just some moments on track that I've had to kind of learn how to handle off the track as well," Christensen explained. "Getting to learn all of the social aspects of the Kulwicki Driver Development Program, hearing the legacy of Alan and listening to old stories from a lot of the board members has just been really cool.

"To learn from Casey [Campbell] and Ryan [Zeck] and everybody involved, Miss Jane [Degler], everybody that just helps me get through some of those tough moments and teaches me some of the things I need to do off the track, getting to learn how to work with some of the charitable organizations has been amazing."

Raising Awareness for Food Allergies

Christensen is also an active voice in the racing community for raising awareness for food allergies. As someone with his own personal experience, it is important for Christensen to share this message.

"Personally, I grew up with a food allergy," said Christensen. "I've been allergic to peanuts my entire life, basically. And just to learn about some of the other struggles that some of the other teams have, then to get to spread awareness online on social media and sometimes through personal interactions at the racetrack has just been really cool."

Through his outreach with organizations such as the Food Allergy Resource and Education (FARE) Teen Advisory Group, Christensen continues to spread the message. However, it has also allowed him to meet others with food allergies and learn from their experiences as well.

“It's really cool to hear the other stories on how people handle that. I grew up having to carry an EpiPen with me my entire life. To listen to other people struggles, not in a bad way, but to learn how to better myself, reading food labels, all that kind of stuff, just to make sure that I don't put myself in a position that can harm me.

Christensen has also been taking on more philanthropic efforts since joining the Kulwicki Driver Development Program. Recently, he worked with young drivers as part of Doug Herbert's B.R.A.K.E.S. organization.

"I went and worked with the B.R.A.K.E.S. program at the zMAX Dragway, and did a couple speeches to a lot of the teens about driver safety and keeping the speed off of the public roads."

Christensen also has dual enrollment at Speed-U and Lanier Technical College Motorsports Vehicle Technology program. This has allowed him to learn more about the technical knowledge to build his racing career, similar to the engineering path Kulwicki took in his career.

"The machine and fabrication stuff has been really cool," said Christensen. "Lately, I've learned how to do safety wire. I've never done safety wire until I got into that program. Basic stuff like that and getting to use it on working on my own car has just been very crucial."

No matter where Christensen goes, you know he'll be learning everything he can to take the next step in his career.
