Kevin, Keelan Harvick Ready to Battle Again in Five Flags' Blizzard Series Finale

With Kevin Harvick joining the field for Saturday's Night of Champions at Five Flags Speedway, we will see the latest chapter in the ongoing battle for family bragging rights between the 2014 NASCAR Cup Series Champion and his son, Keelan Harvick.

The younger Harvick was already entered as part of Saturday's Super Late Model feature, co-sanctioned by the Deep South Cranes Blizzard Series and ASA Southern Super Series. On Thursday, it was announced that Kevin Harvick would be substituting for William Sawalich due to a scheduling conflict.

While unexpected, this will continue the ongoing trend of father and son battling on the racetrack. They have competed against each other many times over the past two years, mostly on the West Coast under the CARS Tour banner. Saturday's race will be Keelan Harvick's first with the ASA Southern Super Series.

Most recently, Kevin held the bragging rights by winning the Summer Nationals 125 at Colorado National Speedway. Keelan set fast time in qualifying for the race, but Kevin took the lead late from Jaron Giannini to secure the win.

Kevin has four wins in Late Model competition this year, including a win in the Idaho 200 at Stateline Speedway. At Tucson Speedway in January, Kevin and Keelan finished 1-2 in a Spears CARS Tour Southwest Pro Late Models event as part of Chilly Willy weekend.

In June, it was Keelan's turn to finish ahead of Kevin in a 1-2 finish in the Galloway 150 at Evergreen Speedway. In eight races where father and son have competed against one another in 2026, Keelan has scored the better finish five times.

Most of the time, however, Keelan is racing with the support of his NASCAR champion father, and the 14-year-old driver has enjoyed plenty of success this year in that regard as well. His first win of the year came in the IceBreaker 125 at Florence Motor Speedway in February.

Keelan earned his first career Appalachian Sucker Punch ASA STARS National Tour victory in August, winning the Michigan 300 at Owosso Speedway. Last weekend, the Toyota Racing development driver made his CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series debut at VIRginia International Raceway.

Both drivers have experience at Five Flags Speedway entering Saturday's race. Kevin Harvick has competed in two previous Blizzard Series events, including last year's Night of Champions. Meanwhile, Keelan Harvick made history last December as the youngest-ever winner of the Allen Turner Snowflake 125.

Saturday's race marks the final stop on the Road to the Snowball Derby, the prestigious Super Late Model event held each December at the Pensacola, Florida half-mile. Currently, 24 drivers are entered for the event, including Blizzard Series points leader and defending Snowball Derby champion Stephen Nasse, Southern Super Series points leader Spencer Davis, 25-time Blizzard Series race winner Bubba Pollard and more.

The Blizzard Series race makes up just one part of Saturday's racing program. The Allen Turner Tuneup 100 will also crown an Allen Turner Pro Late Model Series champion, with Jake Finch leading the standings in that division. The Buggyworx Crown Stocks will battle for 25 laps as well, and a fireworks show awaits fans after the night of racing.
